EFP redesigned and improved its online Sales Guide portraying almost 90 active European world sales companies which represent and sell films from across Europe and around the world.

As a searchable database, the Guide includes individual company profiles as well as important contacts, offering buyers and programmers a handy working tool and helping producers and filmmakers make the right choices for their films.

The listed world sales companies, based in many European countries, are associated with EFP since 2004 via its financial incentive Film Sales Support (FSS) for the promotion of European films at international film festivals and markets.

FSS and the publication of the Sales Guide are supported by Creative Europe MEDIA, the Nordisk Film & TV Fond, German Films and ICAA - Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales (Spain). Support for films from Switzerland is made possible thanks to the international measures by the Federal Office of Culture, Media Desk Suisse and SWISS FILMS.

The Spanish film DEAF, directed by Eva Libertad, has been awarded the for European Films, presented by EFP in cooperation with the FICG Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara. In its second year, the award spotlights outstanding European cinema and its relevance for Latin American audiences.

Libertad, whose debut feature is also part of the festival’s official programme, was truly touched about this honour: "We are very grateful to the jury of the Latin American Critics Award for Best European Film for this recognition, it is an honour for us that Deaf has been awarded among 19 European films. We are so thrilled because it will help the film to be seen in Latin America, and we really hope that it will also connect with the audience there".

A huge thank you goes out to our partners and the 33 influential Latin American film critics who watched a total of 19 films and helped to give European cinema more visibility. The winner was announced earlier today at the FICG.
