In Missing 10 Hours VR you go on a virtual night out with Greg, a big-headed guy with bad intentions. Greg spikes 22-year-old Mara’s drink with the drug GHB, and she gradually loses control of her actions. The choices you make during the evening—go along with Greg, watch passively or intervene—determine the outcome: a safe ending, or arrest and questioning at the police station.

Missing 10 Hours VR is an interactive immersive narrative designed to counter the bystander effect by recreating different social dynamics and peer pressure.

The VR piece premiered at IDFA DocLab past November where Kent Bye interviewed the creator Fanni K. Fazakas (Rumexr). Listen to their conversation and learn more about how this project got started, how the interactive narrative evolved over time and the project team's mission to show this piece to audiences far and wide as a tool for education and advocacy.

Fuh guys! We just had our world premiere at IDFA DocLab with Missing 10 Hours VR! 💜✨ It's been a wonderful experience overall and I'm glad that the volunteers took great care of onboarding our users throughout the week. Many new people shared their interest in joining our mission and we're about to continue the work. Indeed it's time for a few days of proper rest but it's only the beginning. We are soon travelling to IDFA, where our project Missing 10 Hours VR will have its World Premier.
We successfully finished the last touches of sound design and foley and can't wait to show you our results in Amsterdam!.

Last touches of Missing 10 Hours VR foley! It is incredible to see how much our foley artist added to the overall soundscape. We recorded footsteps, cloth movements and broke some glasses 🙉 It was a pleasure to work with Balázs Győri and on the overall piece.

It was also the first time I shared my personal story experience with GHB - the r**e date drug.. more on that later but I feel empowered and grateful that the audience was so supportive. :) our journey just started...

A napokban először teszteltük Magyarországon a Missing 10 Hours VR projektünket a Match Frame Productions-el közös gyártásban. Nagyon köszönjük, hogy ennyien eljöttetek, és segítettetek az észrevételeitekkel. Külön köszönet a stáb kitartó tagjainak, akik éjt nappallá téve dolgoznak az utolsó simitásokon és csodás grafikusainknak a Strigula studio-nál. Sára Borbála Enyingi és Tóth-Meisels Bence remek munkája az installáció és világítástechnika, az ezekről készült fotókat érdemes az albumban megtekinteni! Nem utolsó sorban pedig köszönjük a támogatást a MONYO kézműves sörfőzdének, akik hozzájárultak az installációs tervünk sikeréhez! Optimizmussal tölt hogy a MONYO támogatta a küldetésünket és egy cég végre tesz is azért hogy a fiatalok biztonságban, környezetükre tudatosan szórakozzanak. Ez csak a kezdet, stay tuned... 🥰

We recently had the first public testing of our project, Missing 10 Hours VR in Hungary with Match Frame Productions. Thank you so much for coming and giving us feedback. I would also like to say a special thanks to our hard-working team who are still relentlessly working on the last touches, and our amazing graphic designers Rita Honosi, Varga Natália at Strigula Studios. Sára and Bence were in charge of the installation and lighting design, have a look at their amazing work in the album. Last but not least we appreciate the support from MONYO Brewing Co. who provided us with their amazing hand-crafted cherry-flavored beers to give our installation an extra boost. It makes me personally optimistic that a company such as MONYO was helping during the first steps of our mission and supported our goal that young teenagers will have a more conscious state of mind when partying. This is just the beginning... stay tuned 🥰

In a week, Fanni the director will give a talk about the making of Missing 10 Hours at the prestigious Raindance Immersive Summit in London. She will cover how the project unfolded from a simple University prototype into a much more complex multi-ending Virtual Reality piece with the goal to protect young partygoers from date-r**e drugs such as GHB or GBL - liquid ecstasy. Stay tuned for our live-stream.
