Shopping for pads in Germany seems like extreme sport since everything is written in German but I got some recommendations and I reviewed one of it. Let me know what you think and also which one I should try next.

One of the biggest downsides of living in Germany, in my experience, is the public transport system especially the trains.

Before moving here, I expected German trains to be the definition of punctuality. Instead, I’ve learned that with the DB train system, there’s always a chance your train will be delayed or even cancelled at the last minute.

If you have somewhere important to be, you almost have to plan to leave one or even two hours earlier than necessary because you never know what surprise awaits you at the station. A journey that should be straightforward can quickly turn into multiple platform changes, delays, or waiting around for replacement trains.

Ironically, it reminds me of life in Lagos. In Lagos, you leave home early because of unpredictable traffic. In Germany, you leave home early because of unpredictable trains. Different reasons, same survival strategy.

Don’t get me wrong Germany’s public transport network reaches almost everywhere, and that’s something I really appreciate. I just wish reliability matched the reputation.

Has your experience with DB been similar, or have I just been unlucky? 😂🚆

Would you go 2 weeks without posting over a bad hair day? 😅 I did. Heat wave = no wigs. Refused to film rough. So I got braided today, and remembered… home isn’t always a place. Sometimes it’s a hairstyle, 5,000 miles away 🤎

This is what moving abroad does to you 🥹
You barely have time to make your hair and then you’re somewhere punching in the exchange rate and the price to make hair is an arm and a leg 😭😭 so we end up having one hair style for several months.

Moving to a new country teaches you a lot about yourself.

One thing I wasn’t fully prepared for was the loneliness.

Not the kind where you’re always alone, but the kind where you don’t have anyone to randomly call, grab coffee with, or share the little moments of life with.

I’m not saying I’m lonely all the time, and making friends isn’t even my biggest priority right now. I’m focused on settling in, learning the language, and building my life here.

But I do find myself wondering… how do people actually make genuine friends after moving abroad?

Everyone seems to already have their own circle, and building meaningful connections takes time. I’m learning to be patient because I’d rather have a few real friendships than lots of surface-level ones.

If you’ve ever moved to a new country, how did you make your first real friend? I’d genuinely love to hear your story. 🤍

3 summer mistakes I made moving to Germany 😅 wrong clothes, the wrong hair plan, and skincare that just wasn’t built for this heat. Already planning next year differently.

I almost gave up on my content creation journey, and I’m not afraid to admit it.

It gets overwhelming sometimes.

Between work, life, family responsibilities, trying to stay creative, and dealing with creative blocks, I honestly felt like giving up. There were days when I questioned if I should even continue.

But if there’s one thing that kept me going, it’s my passion for creating content.

Even on the days I didn’t post, I wasn’t at peace. Every day that passed without uploading something made me feel like a part of me was missing.

So this is me choosing to show up again.

Not because everything is perfect, but because I’m reminding myself why I started in the first place.

This is me holding myself accountable.

Here’s to consistency, progress over perfection, and not giving up on the things we genuinely love. 🤍

Have you ever felt like giving up on something you truly loved? What kept you going?

I discover new things daily as a Nigerian that recently moved abroad. Honestly I was embarrassed after asking if she didn’t give me the chicken any more 🥹🥹
