The last one... ...for now. Promised!

This time the goal was to push the amp into the direction of 80's hair metal. I did not have very much to set it up so the sound may not be perfect in terms of the distortion, but it is obvious what is possible,

A huge part of my work in the studio is to establish an inner, ever evolving sonic map and inventory of my equipment and what sounds I can get with various combinations of microphones, drumheads, cymbals, pedals and amps. This way I can work very efficiently for the artist if he is looking for a certain sound that he can't get with his own eqipment...

And the PEAVEY Pacer proves to be a rich source of different sounds when boosted with different pedals or played with different pickups. Very impressive!

In this video I used a B&O Beomic 3 set up quite in a distance from the amp to capture a more full range sonic picture.

I couldn't resist, so here is another little video of the PEAVEY Pacer...

This time I ran a riff of my own band Schwermut's pre-production Demo through it as it has a more complex harmonic content as the riff in the last video.

Well yes, I changed the pedal, the mic and its position but that's it. No post production. Gosh, I love these old solid state amps!

I am always astonished about what people are giving away for nearly free...

I could not resist giving this wonderful amp a new home at LIQUID AETHER Audio, and after a thorough cleaning job the amp is like new.

The sound of the video was captured with one mic in the right spot with two pedals in front of the amp.
