Let‘s make Oreo Cheesecake Basque.

Ingredients:

2 Cream Cheese
Sugar 100g / 1/4 Cup
Cream from Oreo Double 2 Packs
Eggs 3
Heavy Cream 200g / 3/4cup
Vanilla 1tbs
Flour 15ml
1 Pack Crushed Oreos

Crust
Butter
Oreo Biscuits

Method:

1. Melt the Oreo Cream in a microwave for a minute and set aside;
2. Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla and then add eggs, heavy whipping cream and Oreo Cream until smooth as you scrape the sides of the bowl as needed; (don't over beat so the cheesecake won't crack)
3. Pour the batter over the crust; wrap the pan with wide heavy duty aluminum foil so water doesn't get in the pan and makes crust soggy
4. Bake in a water bath at 230c for about 30 mins
5. Cool at room temperature for an hour, then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight;
6. Finish with Oreo and more melted white chocolate and Oreo cream and enjoy

The first Time I saw them I was mesmerize and ask about what’s The story behind of these 2 Arts. As if they spoke to me. it seems like, I come from a place where I was holding a lot inside pressure, weight, things that didn’t have language yet. The darkness isn’t emptiness, it’s density, accumulation, the parts of me that were layered over time and learned to stay quiet. The fissures running through each work are not breaks but passages, moments where something alive insisted on moving through resistance. The green is my breath, my pulse, my continuity, contained but persistent. I wasn’t trying to create contrast, I was tracing where I had been split and where I was still connected. These works are about endurance rather than healing, about staying present inside heaviness, and allowing a slow, honest emergence rather than a sudden release.
