I'm teaching my kids that their siblings are among the most important people in this life.

As their mom, I won’t be around all their lives,
relationships will come and go,
and so do friends,
but siblings are by each other’s side for a lifetime.

My hope is that they always have each other’s backs—
in sickness or health, whether it's raining or shining, whether they're disappointed with each other’s life choices or not—nothing will keep them away.

Siblings have a special bond because they share a history and know each other's quirks, joys, and fears better than anyone else.

So, I hope they love each other in a way that petty drama can’t undo.

That’s my wish as their mother,
and I pray that they see it through.

FACTS OF LIFE
In the blink of an eye another day is gone,
In the blink of an eye another week is gone.
In the blink of an eye another month is gone,
In the blink of an eye another year is gone.
And in the blink of an eye I'll be gone too,
And not just me but also you.
So maybe we should be wishin' and hopin',
That we could just keep our eyes open.
And see and appreciate all that we can see,
And learn how we can be, the best that we can be,
Before it's too late,
Time flies, so let's not wait.
Whether we have just one life or many, one thing is true,
We should try to enjoy every moment we can; it's the wisest thing to do.

LIFE LESSONS
1. Don’t lend money to your family. Give it.
2. Never shake a hand while sitting down.
3. Stop telling people more than they need to know.
4. Never eat the last piece of something you didn't buy.
5. Don't throw your friend under the bus to impress someone.
6. Never insult the cooking when you are the guest.
7. Don't use the urinal next to an occupied one.
8. Don't take out your phone during a conversation.
9. Never take credit for work you didn't do.
10. Listen, nod, and most of all make eye contact.
11. Don't make fun of your friend in front of his kids.
12. Never let emotions overpower you.
13. Never beg for a relationship.
14. Dress well no matter what the occasion.
15. Never kick a man when he is already down.
