Der 9. November 1989 – ein Wendepunkt in der Geschichte Deutschlands.
Am späten Abend öffnete sich an der Bornholmer Straße in Berlin die Schranke der Bösebrücke. DDR-Bürger:innen konnten erstmals ohne Passkontrollen in den Westen Berlins – ein Moment voller Jubel, Erleichterung und historischer Tragweite: der Beginn des Mauerfalls.
Heute erinnern Mauerrelikte, Informationstafeln und am Boden verlegte Stahlbänder, die die Ereignisse chronologisch darstellen, an diese historische Nacht. Ein Ort der die Teilung Berlins greifbar macht und gleichzeitig den Zusammenhalt und die neu gewonnene Freiheit sichtbar werden lässt – mitten in der Stadt, direkt am Ort des Geschehens.

November 9, 1989 – a turning point in German history.
That evening, the barrier at the Bösebrücke bridge on Bornholmer Street in Berlin was opened. For the first time, citizens of the GDR were able to enter West Berlin without undergoing passport checks. This moment was filled with jubilation, relief and historical significance, marking the beginning of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Today, remnants of the Wall, information boards, and steel bands laid on the ground depicting the events chronologically commemorate this historic night. It is a place that makes the division of Berlin tangible and at the same time makes cohesion and newly won freedom visible – in the middle of the city, right at the scene of the events.
