In his second appearance on Schimmer’s Groovebox podcast series, Stuttgart-based DJ Bernd Affleck delivers an exclusive two-hour recording, captured live as the opening set on the HiFi Floor at C2 OST in Karlsruhe.

The next episode of our Schimmer podcast series was mixed by Portuguese artist and Hayes co-founder VIL.

VIL’s sharp taste and skillful set building have made him a staple at top Portuguese clubs like Lux Frágil and Gare, as well as major festivals. In 2018, together with Temudo and Menosdois, he co-founded Hayes, a collective and label pushing distinct sounds through vinyl and digital releases, now recognized as one of the scene’s most promising. Between 2020 and 2021, VIL expanded his reach with standout EPs on labels such as Ben Klock’s Klockworks and Stranger’s Self Reflektion.

We’re back with our Groovebox podcast series. Episode #047 was recorded by Schimmer resident uiava!

Originally from Donetsk and now based in Warsaw, uiava draws on her funk and disco roots to create sets filled with deep house rhythms, hypnotic melodies, and pulsating, fat basslines. A newcomer to the scene, she has already played in cities including Gdańsk, Kraków, Berlin, and London, bringing her distinctive energy to every dance floor. Her performances are vibrant, engaging, and leave a lasting impression.

With his debut EP on Schimmer Records’ digital sublabel Liquid One, Dutch artist Bob Semp presents a concise yet immersive introduction to his sound. Across four tracks – Cradle, Lost Mangrooves, Rope Bridge, and Breathe – the EP showcases a playful, loopy approach to electronic music, anchored by a keen sense for percussive and rhythmic elements.

The release moves fluidly between intricate grooves, looping textures, and subtle melodic gestures. Episode #61 of our Schimmer podcast series selected and mixed by Ako.

Ako is a head to toes vinyl maniac. Her experimental approach to techno is a mosaic of oldschool gems from the 90s and deep dive into diverse styles such as trans; breakbeat; dubstep; house. She’s patchworking different textures and looses the boundaries between genres to perform a ride full of surprises and energetic charge. Her sound is built on
progressive melodies, echo if Detroit, funky twists, hard groove patterns, cold raw bangers and a full on 909 power. Expect unexpected.

The line-up includes JK b2b Martin Georgi, Julian Bainbridge, Valeria and Egotot b2b Wencel. Let yourself be carried by the music - playful electronica, house, and experimental grooves will lead you through the day and into the night, where techno takes over.

Episode #47 mixed by Valeria, resident of Schimmer Records, knows her selection by heart. Vinyl meets digital, eachtransition sharp, each groove alive. Together with the Schimmer family, she brought the journey to Gdansk - a night at Crackhouse, where walls hum with stories and ship cranes watch over the dancefloor.

It was her closing set, the sun already breaking in the early hours. Pumping energy into tired legs, she carried the dancers further, deeper, longer. Between
steel and sea air, the mix unfolded - raw and unique like the location itself. A fleeting moment, pressed into sound, and left behind like a trace of light.
