Larissa,
Today, a chapter in WMX history came to an end.
After 100 World Championship Grand Prix starts, you lined up behind the gate for the final time. It is difficult to put into words what such a milestone represents. Behind those 100 starts are years of dedication, sacrifices, injuries, victories, setbacks, endless travel, and above all, an unwavering passion for motocross.
For nearly two decades, you have been one of the familiar faces of the WMX World Championship. Seeing your name on the entry list and behind the starting gate became part of the sport. Today, it is hard to imagine the paddock without you.
Over the years, you have been much more than a rider. You have been a role model, an inspiration, and a true example of perseverance. Through every challenge, you represented women’s motocross with professionalism, determination, and respect, both on and off the track until the end.
Statistics tell only part of the story. They don’t show the countless hours of training, the sacrifices made behind the scenes, or the determination required to compete at the highest level for so many years. They also cannot measure the impact you have had on the sport and on the many riders who grew up watching you race.
Being present this weekend and witnessing this milestone made me realize how much you have contributed to WMX and how many memories you have given to the sport throughout your career.
Congratulations on an outstanding career and on becoming the first rider to reach 100 World Championship WMX starts.
Thank you for the memories.
Thank you for your kindness.
Thank you for your dedication.
Thank you for everything you have given to our sport.
You are, and always will be, a WMX legend. ❤️
