Be an early bird and submit your poetry films for the 10th Weimar Poetry Film Award until the 31st of December 🐥🎬

Filmmakers from any nation and of any age are welcome to participate with up to three short films of up to 10:00 mins which should explore the relation between film and written poetry in an innovative, straightforward way. Films produced before 2022 will not be considered.

Dates & Deadlines:

• December 31, 2024: Earlybird
• February 15, 2025: Regular Deadline
• April 3, 2025: Notification Date
• May 23 – 24, 2025: Event Date

PROGRAMM SAMSTAG 🎉

Ab 13 Uhr im Lichthaus Kino: Meet the Filmmakers & Meet the Poets. Wir freuen uns auf Lesungen, Screenings und Gespräche mit unseren Künstler:innen. Ab 15 Uhr läuft unser drittes Sonderprogramm „Neue Talente“.

Das Screening der Wettbewerbsfilme und die Verleihung der 9. Weimarer Poesiefilmpreise finden um 18 Uhr im Lichthaus Kino statt.
Musikalische Begleitung: Christoph Schenker (Cello; Leipzig)
Moderation: Laura Paloma (Frankfurt am Main) & Knut Holburg (Leipzig)

PROGRAMME SATURDAY

From 1 p.m. in the Lichthaus cinema: Meet the Filmmakers & Meet the Poets. We look forward to readings, screenings and discussions with our artists. Our third special program „New Talents“ will be running from 3 p.m.

The screening of the competition films and the award ceremony of the 9th Weimar Poetry Film Awards will take place at 6 p.m. in the Lichthaus cinema.

Musical accompaniment: Christoph Schenker (Cello; Leipzig)
Presenters: Laura Paloma (Frankfurt am Main) & Knut Holburg (Leipzig)

PROGRAMM FREITAG 🎉 nur noch 5 Tage bis unser Festival beginnt!

Wir starten am Freitag um 15 Uhr mit den Screenings unserer Sonderprogramme „Weltspiegel der Poesie“ und „Deutschsprachige Poesiefilme“ im mon ami Kino.

Die Festivaleröffnung / Lit.Collage findet um 18 Uhr im mon ami (Großer Saal) statt. Im ersten Teil des Abends treten Franka Sachse, Bas Böttcher und Kay Kalytta in einer multimedialen Jam-Session auf die Bühne. Spoken-Word trifft auf Klang- und Videokunst. Im zweiten Teil moderiert Aline Helmcke Filmprogramm mit besonders wertvollen Collage-Animationen (Details hierzu in Kürze).

We start this Friday at 3 pm with the Screenings of our special programmes „World Mirror of Poetry“ and „German-Language Poetry Films“ at mon ami cinema.

The Festival Opening / Lit.Collage starts at 6 pm in mon ami (Großer Saal). In the first part of the evening Franka Sachse, Bas Böttcher, and Kay Kalytta will perform in a multimedia jam session. Spoken word meets sound and video art. In the second part, Aline Helmcke will present a film programme with particularly valuable collage animations (details following soon).
