🚀 Digital AR byudvikling i øjenhøjde – direkte i browseren 🏙️📱 Står du over for en velfortjent sommerferie – og er du nysgerrig på, hvordan dit lokalområde kan komme til at se ud i fremtiden?

Vi har netop udviklet et spændende WebXR/AR-projekt, i samarbejde med Aarhus Kommune, hvor vi tester nye måder at engagere borgere digitalt i byudvikling – uden brug af eksterne AR-apps eller dyre specialløsninger der kan være begrænset til et fåtal af enheder og browsere. 😎

Hvorfor benytte Web AR til digital byudvikling?

📱 Det er et demokratisk værktøj: mobiltelefonen har vi allerede i lommen – så alle kan være med, uanset tid og sted.

🎈 Det kan gøre oplysning og deltagelse i byen mere legende og spontan, særligt for unge, der måske ikke ellers engagerer sig i byplanlægning.

🔮 På sigt kan teknologien give os mulighed for at vise en hybrid mellem det nuværende og det kommende byrum – i realtid og på præcist det sted, man står.

Vi tester de første skridt i brugen af AR som redskab til borgerinddragelse i byrummet. Så er du i Aarhus hen over sommeren, så tjek installationerne i Marselis Boulevard-området ud, og ræk endelig ud hvis I vil hører mere om web AR💡😉

Brogården Kulturvæksthus er i disse dage værter og hoster ni forskellige dygtige internationale kunstere til Media Art Days Ringkøbing 🤩 De arbejder på individuelt på interaktive projekter, og deres dage er fyldt med inspiration og oplæg! Igår var flokken forbi som de første til at prøve VR dokumentaren X-Ray Fashion - Upcycled! ❤️

Experience history from a new perspective at Vor Frue Domkirke 🏛

In celebration of the fascinating exhibition, “Rum og Lys”, about C. F. Hansen, the great architect who rebuilt Vor Frue Domkirke after the tragic fire of 1807, we have created a unique XR experience that opens a new door to history 📜✨

Hansen was fascinated by ancient buildings, particularly the Pantheon, which made a great impression on him. Similarly to his French colleagues, he was also captivated by Vignola's architecture from the mid-1500s, serving as great inspiration for Vor Frue Domkirke.

To complement the exhibition, we created 360 views of the interior and 3D scans of unique details of the church, so you can take a virtual tour and experience - among other things - the iconic light that creates an atmosphere of divine beauty ☀️🕊️

The exhibition will be open from the 3rd of June to the 1st of September 2024.

Bittersweet news incoming! 🍋🍓

After almost 6 years in MANND, it is time for us to part ways with our wonderful full-time developer, Jeppe 🙀

Jeppe has been with MANND since 2018 when he kicked in the door as a very determined intern and baffled Signe and Maria with his blatant confidence 🔥

At the time, MANND was only one year old 🍼 so Jeppe has been with us since then through thick and thin, adding so much value to the company! 🙏❤️

He is a creative “hooman”, a generalist with a capital G and a very skilled developer! He’s an incredible cook and baker, and streams his cooking endeavours, amongst other things on his channel on Twitch 😎🤖

Fun fact: we all agree if the zombie apocalypse was to hit we would all rush to Nibe to be with Jeppe as he would make sure we have the best chances to survive 😅😂
On top of his versatile skills and home-built equipment, his incredibly nerdy humour would also make it all a bit more bearable ❤️

Jeppe is continuing his journey at Lego, and we are happy to see this dream of his finally fulfilled! 🥳 However, we will miss him dearly and have a hard time saying goodbye 🥹 ❤️‍🩹

Wish our wonderfully goofy survival kit, Jeppe-MANND some luck! 🍀

XR Workshop in Cairo 👩‍💻

As part of our trip with X-Ray Fashion – Upcycled to Egypt, we co-hosted an extended reality (XR) workshop with Egyptian non-profit art space Medrar مدرار 🤝

Maria Herholdt Engermann and Rebekka H. Mikkelsen guided the participants through the process of creating their projects by sharing learnings, inspiration and introduction to using new platforms and tools, like Insta360 cameras, RunwayML and Meta Spark.

Thank you so much to everyone who participated, we look forward to following your work! 😃

We love doing these workshops, giving people the access and tools for creating XR experiences, following the process and seeing the outcome.

As part of the upgrade of X-Ray Fashion, we created a playbook for those who want to get even more immersed in the topic of sustainability and fashion! 🌿👗

This playbook, written by Rebekka H. Mikkelsen and Kata Börönte, is packed with learnings, hard facts, educational exercises, and more!

X-Ray Fashion – Upcycled premiered in cittadellarte in Biella and WOW what a turnout!!

We are overwhelmed by the great interest in the installation! 🙏

X-Ray Fashion 2.0 has gotten a new name! 🤩

As you might know already, X-Ray Fashion has undergone an immense upgrade.

While the experience is now much lighter and more interactive than the original, the concept, video content and message are still the same.

We have been back and forth on how to phrase and visualise this upgraded version that is both new and different, but also still the same 🤔💭

NOW we have landed on THIS title:

X-Ray Fashion - Upcycled!

Upcycled (a well-known and beloved term often used in fashion) means that it has been “reused in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original".

This is exactly how we see X-Ray Fashion – Upcycled!

To visualise the upgraded version, we also landed on a new, bright colour scheme of blue, pink and red!

Big news concerning Mental Health & XR! 🧠👩‍⚕️

We are super happy to continue our collaboration with Kamilla Pedersen on our PsychSim project - now teaming up with Center for Digital Psykiatri 🙌

The project aims to provide a deeper understanding of VR as an educational tool for educational institutions and teachers and to ensure that the new use of XR technologies is supporting learning objectives that benefit patients in psychiatry in syddanmark 👨‍⚕️📚

Thanks to Psykiatrien i Region Syddanmark for the warm reception! 🙏

Mental health is one of the cornerstones of MANND, and we care deeply about creating experiences that can make a positive difference for patients and doctors in psychiatry.

🥂 BIG NEWS: X-Ray Fashion – Upcycled premieres in Biella, Italy this April! 🎉🥳

For the last half a year the whole team has been working hard to upgrade the original X-Ray Fashion installation for newer and lighter hardware, adding new interactions and the latest facts from the fashion industry. 💚 All this thanks to Unity!

The virtual reality experience is now ready to travel again. It will be showcased at Planet Week in the run-up to this year’s G7 Climate, Energy and Environment Summit 🌍 at the beautiful Cittadellarte in Biella, Italy.

If you are around for the event, come by to say hi and try X-Ray Fashion – Upcycled. The installation is available to visit from the 23rd to the 28th of April 2024! 🤩
