I have been looking forward for this one to come out. Karmen Rõivassepp has her very own place in the musical landscape. A place where even the most intricate sounds effortless. There is much beauty to be found in this music. Jazznyt calls it a monumental and strong release. I agree!
What a joy to record, mix and master the record.
It is album of the week on P8 jazz. Go listen!
🌟 Karmen Rõivassepp Quartet „Breathe“ is finally out! 🌟
https://krq.lnk.to/Breathe
„Breathe“ is melancholic, moody & reflective. It’s personal, playful & honest. I hope you will find it comforting, while I hope it will make you feel a little bit uncomfortable. And I truly hope it touches you as much as writing this music has helped me get through early adulthood.
❤ You can hear Simon Eskildsen on piano, Adrian Christensen on bass & Daniel Sommer on drums – the guys that have always shared the excitement and joy for making music together and that have been the most wonderful band members as well as supportive friends.
🧡 It was all recorded, mixed, mastered & co-produced by the kind, determined and insightful Jacob Worm at FinlandStudio.
💛 Cover art & design is made by the groundbreaking Estonian artist Stina Leek, who created this beautiful cover with the pictures taken by the always brilliant Martin Dam Kristensen.
💚 Jaeger Community Music has taken this release under their wings and made sure that all of you can enjoy this music through different medias, as well as spread this release to as wide of an audience as possible!
💙 I want to thank Rõivassepp family, Lars Asger, Karen, Michael, Lene & Susanne for your continued support! Ja suurim tänu minu emale ja isale, kes on selle plaadi juba enne ilmumist ribadeks kuulanud ning kes mind nii keerulisematel kui ka vähem keerulisematel aegadel alati innustanud ja toetanud on!
💜 Last, but not least – I couldn’t have made it without the financial support of Koda Kultur, DMF & Aarhus Kommune. Thank you!
