Jutland Station

Jutland Station Jutland Station is run by volunteer journalists. We want to boost the inter-cultural conversations and improve the mutual understanding.

http://www.jutlandstation.dk/ is an online publication originally created by students at the Erasmus Mundus Master’s programme ‘Journalism, Media and Globalization’ at Aarhus University. Through innovative online storytelling, photography, audio and video reporting our mission is to build bridges between the Danes and the international community living in the Jutland region. Jutland Station aims a

t helping the international community understand the current affairs in Denmark generally and in the Aarhus region specifically. Jutland Station also offers Danes an insightful perspective on the life of both Danes and foreigners residing in the region. All content in Jutland Station is written in English, as for many residents and expats, English is still their stronger language.

Yesterday evening, two small children (a girl and a boy aged probably 1 and 2 and a half respectively) were found abandoned near Aarhus City Hall. According to the Østjyllands Politi, the toddlers appear to be Eastern European. The authorities are working hard to locate the parents but if you have any information about the persons who left the babies unattended, please call 114.
Please share this message as wide as possible.

“De Sociale Myndigheder har fået overdraget børnene og sørger for de bliver taget kærligt hånd om. Vi henstiller til I kun ringer, hvis I har kendskab til familien eller har set børnene sammen med deres forældre. Ring 114. https://t.co/O63jkctlxV”

Here is a reminder of the reasons why, even at the end of April, it is hard to say goodbye to the month of March: the Danish People’s Party almost spent 400 million DKK on a redundant bypass road, the Danish Tax Authority promises to bring money back home and the government critical radio station Radio24Syv is forced to relocate, away from Copenhagen. Read all about it in The Danish :)

The Danish is back!
In this recap: the Asylum-Island project is a go, the unemployment benefits get a slash, the upcoming election shows its early symptoms as politicians agree to build 70 kilometre “pig wall”, Denmark is considered the least corrupt country by survey that ignores corrupt banks, and last but not least, the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority clears itself of any wrongdoing in internal investigation.
