For os er sommeren en tid med flere lange gåture. Der er flere fridage, hvad end det er helligdage eller ferie, og dagene er længere. Vi udnytter derfor de lyse timer og får derfor en del kilometer i benene. Gadget og jeg er nu også begyndt at gå dele af Hærvejen og elsker allerede de etaper der omkring vores hjem.

Til at tracke vores ture bruger vi gåturs trackingen på 💪🏻. Her kan vi se hvor langt vi er gået og hvor lang tid det har taget. Vi bruger også live tracking undervejs, hvis der er et passende sikkert og lovligt sted at lade ham løbe lidt fri. Ikke fordi han løber væk, men det er rart at have den ekstra sikkerhed, især når man begynder at bevæge sig ud nye steder. Derudover er lyset på trackeren uundværlig når mørket falder på.

Generelt er sikkerhed på turen ret vigtig. Vi har altid refleksdækner og lys med, til hvis nu det når at blive lidt mørkt, samt vand, snacks🍪 og førstehjælpsgrej🩹. Så er man altid klar på hvad end turen bringer og man kan nyde den istedet for at være bekymret😊.

Last weekend the 25th and 26th of April Gadget and I went to this years first outdoor competition at Top Dogs Nordjylland. I hoped that the outdoor environment would help us focus with more space around us and get that flowy and connected feeling as in training.

Saturday we had two J1 runs. Ended with 1xdisq and 1x🥈 with 5 faults🥳. Slowly getting more steady with less faults. The disq was my fault as I pushed Gadget too much and he was getting unsure. The 5 faults was in the weaves, our weakness 🙈.

Sunday we also had two J1 runs. The first one was perfect (see video) 🥹😭. Clean and 🥇. We got our first qualifier! On hometurf🥹😍🥳. He wasn't running like in training when talking about speed, but he listened so well and was the only one through 💪🏻. The feeling was just on point like in training 😎😍
Our second run was 1x🥉with 10 faults. One weave fault and one running past a jump, as I was too hard with the command just before🙈. Sorry Gadget😅.

A great weekend where he handled the environment pretty well and we were almost as connected as in training. He was quite tired so he wasn't as speedy as he usually is, but that will come with more experience in different settings 😊. Just so so happy about him😍💙.

Happy birthday Kirby 🇩🇰🥳🥳

This goofy redhead is turning 3🥺😍. So many great memories already. So many firsts for you after you joined the family. My little crazy and always happy boy, who just loves to fool around and not be bothered by the pace of the world. Always doing his best to not be in the way. Just a good boy. So happy that he got to be my special little treasure🧡🧡.

We celebrated the day with his first 15+ minutes walk and some training, in a month, due to his surgery. So just a really great day🧡🧡

When we adopted him we got told he was our love child because of his birthday. The date is also the anniversary for David and I as a couple 🤭. 8 years already 😍❤️.

I thought it was time for an update on Kirby🧡

3 weeks ago the vet and I made the decision to amputate a bit of his tail, as he kept hurting it. It was getting bad, started to bleed every day due to a happy wagging cocker and the risks of nerve damage was just too high. Kirby have been hurting his tail on and off since we got him, but because of the Danish law, amputation is something you only do when the injury isn't healing and the incidents have happened several times. As the damage happened at home and not only in the field, it became clear that it only went one way. So the vet helped and hopefully it won't be a problem in the future and Kirby will be painfree.

The healing process has been a nightmare. Kirby is lucky happy, but the happiness has also been an issue when it come to keeping bandages on, not hurting the tail more etc. He really loves his corner in the living room, but when we have to go somewhere he wags so much he hurts the wound. He can't be off leash because he is too active and intense, so he is only on short walks in short leash, to not do any harm. The first 2 weeks he also had a lot of phantom pain and although he was on strong painkillers, it didn't help. So I almost didn't sleep the first 2 weeks as he was whining on/off, which was so sad and frustrating, as I couldn't do anything. We also went to the vet 4 times the first 2 weeks, because the scab of the wound fell off, so we had to make sure that the tissue wasn't damaged more and that the bone wasn't exposed.

So a really chaotic and frustrating first 2 weeks. The last week he has been painfree, but he is getting more and more frustrated. With the pain gone he has more energy and we try our best to keep him calm and satisfied. Now we just wait for the wound to heal enough for him to get more active again🤞🏻😅.

I'm just so grateful for Kirby being happy and such a champ through it all🧡.

Happy easter 🐇🌷🐣

Eating a lot of delicious snacks these days. Whether it's treats for our trainings or long lasting chews. The boys love it and love that we are home to play and have extra cuddles ❤️

Gadget has loved the training treats from .se since 2024. He was just around 7 months on the picture 🥹. Time flies❤️.

Happy birthday Charlie 🇩🇰🥳🥳

10 years old and still playing like pup❤️.

Although his body isn't what it used to be and he is getting slower, he doesn't let it affect his happiness and his personality ❤️.

So happy to still have him by my side, as the past 6 months have been a roller coaster. Will explain in a later post. But now we celebrate my first own. My special boy who I will be forever grateful for. He has learned me so much about dogs, training, dogsports and also a lot about myself.

Godbidder der gør træning til en leg uden dårlig samvittighed😋

Vi træner en del herhjemme og derfor bruger vi også en del godbidder. På en træning kan der hurtigt ryge 100-200 g godbidder og det er altså mange godbidder! Ikke nok med at det er mange godbidder, så er det også en ret stor del af hver af hundenes daglige indtag af mad. Da det ikke er de største hunde, vil det altså sige at de ved brug af almindelige godbidder over tid kan blive fejlernæret. Og det vil vi jo ikke have! Derfor bruger jeg ofte fuldf***r som godbidder. Enten det de normalt får eller andre varianter. Ofte bruger jeg forskellige mærker og varianter, for at holde det mere spændende. Jeg køber mindre poser, så jeg oftere kan skifte variant og prisen på hver 100 g er lige pludselig meget billigere end hvis jeg kun købte 100 g poser af de “almindelige” godbidder. Så for mig er det uden tvivl em fordel at bruge fuldf***r som godbidder.
