poetry? here you go.
the words of the poets of the now.
from around here. they may live in your building. they may be your friends. they may serve your coffee, cut your hair or overtake you on the bike lane.
a spontaneous open call turned into three editions of poetry (and revolt). a trill-ogy?
NU #3 is dedicated to growing pains, commiseration, and the universality of winter blues -
on Saturday, December 6th
we’ll get together at SUPeR
from 16 to 19ish
and you’re invited to join - holding a complimentary drink, reading some poems, greasing your elbows with words high in feelings-fat.
to accompany the launch of NU #3 and Been Thinking A Lot Lately*, we invite your teenage self to the stage:
come share your teenage diary entries with us for a night of catharsis and cringe. Exchange the scented gel pen for a microphone and tell us about your crushes, your unfinished homework, your newly acquired converse, your many, many feelings.
*Been Thinking a Lot Lately by Rebecca Holst Fredslund is the perfect companion to NU #3, like two teenage girls joined at the hip. A selection of excerpts from the diary they kept as a 13-year old, It’s about boys and school, the highs and lows of teenagerhood that live in painfully close proximity to each other, and the poorly concealed secrets we keep from ourselves at that age. It’s funny and raw and in direct touch with the essence of young adulthood.
