A landslide has occurred in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, India, stranding hundreds of pilgrims en route to the Adi Kailash shrine. According to a report by Akashvani News, the landslide has completely blocked the road, causing hardship for both pilgrims and locals.
A team from the Border Road Organization (BRO) has already arrived at the scene and has begun clearing the rubble. Active work is underway to restore transport links and ensure people's safety.
Adi Kailash is an important destination for religious pilgrimage and the incident has raised concerns among relatives of the pilgrims in the region.

Maharashtra state, India

Heavy rains, thunderstorms and winds lashed Maharashtra on Tuesday, causing chaos in Mumbai and Pune. Flooding, falling trees and billboards were reported, and traffic was disrupted.

Mumbai received over 70 mm of rainfall in two hours. The highest rainfall was recorded in Jogeshwari (63 mm), Malpa Dongri (57 mm), Andheri (40 mm) and Powai (38 mm). Waterlogging in Andheri resulted in temporary closure of traffic, and billboards and a mobile tower collapsed. At least seven people were killed - six in Kalyan and one in Pune.

In Pune, the downpour was accompanied by strong winds. Chinchwad received 67.5 mm of rain, Pashan 26 mm and Hadapsar 18 mm. Billboards fell in Sanaswadi and Dhanori, one of them damaging five motorcycles. Fifteen trees were reported to have fallen.

The IMD has issued yellow and orange weather alerts for the region for the coming days. Authorities are urging caution.

Heavy rains caused landslides in Hualien County in eastern Taiwan, forcing the closure of a section of Provincial Highway 9 between Heren and Chunde. Train service between the two stations was also disrupted by rocks falling onto the tracks and a fallen power pole.
Temporary train service is limited: from the north, trains only go to Suao, from the south - to Hualien. Additional trains with non-fixed seats, buses and flights are organized for passengers.

In cities such as Vacaris, almost 80 liters per square meter fell in a day, in Girona this figure exceeded 42, and in Granollers - 36. In Manresa, hail left the city covered in white snow. And in Palamós, rain flooded some streets of the city. In Barcelona, ​​rainfall of 20 to 30 liters per square meter was recorded in half an hour, as a result of which streets in several areas of the city were flooded.
Thousands of lightning strikes recorded. Flights at the airport delayed.

On May 4, in the Ternopil region and in the Rohatyn community of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, there were severe thunderstorms with hail, heavy rain and squalls, which led to significant destruction.
Ternopil region:
Around 4:00 p.m., a powerful thunderstorm with hail began in the village of Saranchuki in the Berezhansky District. Water gushed from the fields into the village, flooding farms and vegetable gardens on one of the streets. Poultry died, but fortunately there were no human casualties. The village of Slovyatin was also damaged.

Ivano-Frankivsk region:
Thunderstorms with strong winds passed through the Rohatyn community. About 20 trees fell on the Mukachevo-Lviv highway near the village of Babukhov. One of the trees fell on a passenger car, injuring a woman.
Local residents have been posting videos, showing streets turning into raging torrents of water, carrying away poultry and flooding yards.

Strong weather anomalies have been recorded in Khabarovsk Krai. In the village of Ayan, snow fell in mid-May — in some places, the snowdrifts reach the level of the first-floor windows. The snowfall is accompanied by a blizzard and strong wind.
In the villages of Chumikan and Nelkan, a squall damaged power lines. A hurricane passed through Khabarovsk and its environs: trees were knocked down, roofs were damaged, and wires were torn down. Smirnovka suffered especially - a tornado destroyed a house, tore out trees, and left the street without power.
According to forecasters, spring 2025 is surprisingly unstable - snow fell in April and May, and January turned out to be abnormally warm.

Heavy rains that hit the municipality of Itagüí (Antioquia department, Colombia) on the night of May 4-5 caused serious emergencies, especially as a result of the sharp rise in water levels in the Villa Lia and Doña María streams.

The worst effects were recorded in the rural area of ​​Los Olivaras, in the "La I" sector, where a flash flood occurred. According to the interim mayor of Itagüí, Jorge Eliécer Echeverri, the disaster killed a 38-year-old man who was trying to save his wife and daughter. A woman was injured and another person is missing.

The storm caused significant damage to infrastructure, with at least 35 homes damaged and roads destroyed, leading to the isolation of several districts and rural areas. There were cases of cars and motorcycles being overturned, some of which have not yet been recovered.

Cities in northwest Arkansas were hit by massive hail from a series of thunderstorms Sunday afternoon. The town of Tontitown was hit especially hard, with hail literally falling from the sky with incredible force.
There were numerous reports of damage to cars and power lines, and thousands of residents were left without power. In one case, hailstones up to 17 inches high were recorded.
Debris, believed to be from a collapsed building, was scattered across a section of Highway 412 in Tontitown, causing major traffic congestion that stretched for several miles.
Roads in the region, particularly in Benton and Washington counties, were slick with hail, with some areas looking more like winter snow than early summer roads.

At least 29 tornadoes were reported in the Midwest on Sunday, including at least 16 in Kansas. Two towns, Grinnell and Plevna, were hit particularly hard.
In the small town of Grinnell (population: 260) in Gove County, a tornado destroyed 15 to 20 homes, blew off the roof of a Catholic church, knocked down trees and downed power lines. The town will be without power until at least Friday. According to Gove County Sheriff Sean Mesh, “there are only a few houses left standing.” Despite the scale of the destruction, no one was killed or seriously injured.
A second powerful tornado passed near Plevna, destroying several houses on the outskirts of the city. In addition, a possible tornado touched down near the city of Greensburg, where train cars were thrown off the rails. Some meteorologists suggest that this twister could have reached EF-5 strength, but official confirmation has not yet been received.

"The heavy rainfall recorded on the morning of Sunday, May 18, caused the Tabure stream to overflow its banks in the Altamira district of the city of Cabudare, municipality of Palavecino," residents of the Altamira district reported on social networks.

A dramatic incident occurred on the Intercommunal Avenue, which connects Cabudare to Barquisimeto, putting people's lives at risk: "A couple riding a motorcycle on the Intercommunal Avenue, which connects Barquisimeto, was swept away by the current." The quick intervention of a driver, described as a "good Samaritan in a truck," prevented a tragedy by saving the couple stuck in the middle of the road. "Two people experienced tense moments when the entrance to Cabudare once again demonstrated its guillotine nature when heavy rain falls on the city," residents of the area reported.
