😮Samuel Eto'o has publicly thanked Nigerian entrepreneur Tony Elumelu, CEO of "UBA Group" for financially supporting the FECAFOOT headquarters building project.

Eto’o revealed that he travelled to Lagos seeking support for the project and turned to Tony Elumelu during that difficult moment.

“I went to Lagos because I needed money. I told myself that the most important thing is to have friends, especially friends who are there when you need them,” Eto’o said.

According to him, after explaining the situation, Elumelu welcomed him warmly and eventually arranged for UBA to support the project.

From Coton of Garoua to international acclamation.

At the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, he played a decisive role in Cameroon’s triumph, scoring crucial goals throughout the tournament and helping the Indomitable Lions reclaim continental glory against Egypt.

At the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, he finished as the tournament’s top scorer with 8 goal; one of the most impressive AFCON scoring campaigns in recent years.

Against Burkina Faso, Cameroon was under pressure before Aboubakar scored twice to complete the comeback victory.

At the 2022 FIFA World Cup against Serbia national football team, Cameroon looked finished at 3-1 down before Aboubakar came on, scored a stunning chip goal, changed the energy of the match, and inspired the comeback to 3-3.

At the 2022 FIFA World Cup he scored the dramatic winning goal against Brazil national football team. That goal instantly became one of the most iconic moments in modern Cameroonian football history.

Beyond the goals, Vincent Aboubakar also carried leadership responsibility during difficult transition periods for the national team. As captain, he became one of the faces of the Indomitable Lions during an era filled with pressure, criticism, and rebuilding.

Longevity and consistency. For more than a decade, he has remained one of Cameroon’s most reliable strikers at both club and international level.
