What could be more unexpected than finding a traditional European restaurant in the heart of Asia?

German chefs, twin brothers Thomas and Mathias Sühring, born and raised in East Berlin, trained and worked under renowned chefs across Europe, after eight years took a bold step and moved to Bangkok to open their own Sühring project, shattering stereotypes about traditional German cuisine, often associated with beer and Bavarian sausages.

The brothers shared that East German cuisine, their homeland, is heavily influenced by Frankfurt’s trends, with a touch of French influence. This foundation laid the groundwork for their establishment, which they firmly reject the label of “haute cuisine.”

The core concept revolves around showcasing the best dishes of modern German cuisine, inspired by childhood memories and family recipes. The restaurant aims to create a relaxed and unpretentious yet elegant atmosphere, almost like a homely haven.

“We are determined to introduce authentic German cuisine to the world,” Thomas and Mathias expressed. “We carefully considered the cuisine to base our author’s cuisine on. In Germany, it’s challenging to find restaurants that serve traditional cuisine, and even within our homeland, it’s often perceived as ‘poor people’s food.’ We set out to prove otherwise, and this became the cornerstone of the Sühring concept.”
