We are thrilled to share that Human Race has been officially selected for the Bergen International Film Festival (BIFF)! 🎉🇳🇴

We are especially honored that the film is part of the Gulluglen (the Golden Owl) competition, presented in collaboration with the University of Bergen. Since 2014, Gulluglen has “celebrated documentary films that bring cutting-edge research to the big screen in powerful and accessible ways.”

Human Race is nominated alongside four outstanding films: Blame, Observer, The Shadow Scholars and How Deep Is Your Love. We are proud to see Human Race reach Norwegian audiences and take part in such an inspiring line-up.

We’re excited to present Human Race to the Melbourne audience tonight.

Ahead of the screening, film critic Peter Krausz from Movie Metropolis shared these kind words about the film:

“The Human Race explores the genetic blueprint of humanity through the eyes and research of a prominent Danish scientist. The film combines dazzling visual effects, interviews, entertaining and scholarly information, as well as a lot to ponder about the impact on our mental illness understanding. The mapping of over 5,000 ancient humans offers much food for thought. An erudite, thought-provoking, documentary.”

We’re thrilled to share that Human Race has been selected as a finalist for Best International Documentary at this year’s Melbourne Documentary Film Festival.
It’s an honour to be in the running alongside The Social Media Trap, Space Cowboy, and The Longer You Bleed.

Huge thanks to the MDFF jury and to everyone who’s joined us on this journey through mental health, identity, and the deep human past.

We are very proud to announce that Human Race has been selected for International Film Festival, Academia Film Olomouc (AFO). Palacký University in Olomouc (Czech Republic)
has been organizing the festival since 1966, making it the world's oldest. The festival focuses on humanities, natural science, and social science, as well as current scientific, artistic, and technological advances.

Om Human Race: Eske Willerslev har en ambition om at bygge verdens største samling af forhistorisk menneskelig arvemasse.
