Making the complex clear means adapting the same message to suit different mediums and contexts.

For over 3.5 years, I’ve been part of a local group helping to qualify and improve the plans for Naturnationalpark Mols Bjerge 🌱

Drawing on our deep local knowledge and insight into our area, we’ve shared perspectives through public meetings, talks, interviews, countless emails, phone calls, and even created visual project descriptions.

Through these efforts, we’ve gradually gained significant traction, with even national news featuring our work. However, a few people still found one central part of the proposal difficult to understand. We felt it was our responsibility to explain it in a different way.

A New Perspective 📸
This holiday hike, I’ve left my film camera at home and brought a mirrorless camera instead - to focus on still photography.

Day one of switching from filmmaking has been somewhat of a creative challenge. My hands are instinctively tuned to cine cameras, and my mind keeps framing shots as if I’m filming a sequence of moving shots for a scene 🙈🎥

I’ll first dig into editing the mirrorless shots once back in Denmark, but I’ll keep you posted with cell phone shots while on the hike.

A 3-minute film that dives into No Title stunning mural at the Fairy Tale Garden in Odense, capturing the vibrant life beneath the river’s surface. Naturally, we wove a thread of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale magic into the story - a perfect nod to the author’s birthplace 🐟📚

Now, 7 years later, NoTitle has unveiled a breathtaking new mural at a local school in Odense. This time, the cascading scenes of animals decorate the walls indoors 🎨

Imagine the world of wonder and curiosity this will ignite in the children who walk these halls every day 🌟

The behind the scene 🎥 Celebrating two milestones with innovative collaboration: The '25 50 75' Drilling Rig.

A new mini-rig which will take environmental and geotechnical drilling to new depths. Built to perform in areas with limited space or access, but with an ability to drill up to 60 meters into the underground 🛠️

A joint venture marking:

⚙️ Jysk Geoteknik’s 25th anniversary

⚙️ Knebel Drilling’s 50th anniversary

⚙️ 75 years combined in the industry, which we are celebrating in 2025 by redesigning the classic 75’er model.

𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆’𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮. With their vast access to streaming movies and TV series, they have been training themselves in how to read films from an early age.

𝑺𝒐 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒌 𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄?

My take on teaching last week's film course was simple:

🎥 First, help them uncover what they already know on a subconscious level 🧠

🎥 Then, equip them with the tools to intentionally communicate through cinematic language 💡

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 began with breaking down the fundamentals of visual storytelling and putting them straight into practice — starting with 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Seeing the frame as a canvas, we explored:

🎥 𝑪𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒖𝒑 𝒗𝒔. 𝑾𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒕 – Tight creates intimacy, wide provides context.

🎥 𝑹𝒖𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒅𝒔 & 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 – Guiding the viewer’s eye intentionally.

After each principle was explained and demonstrated, the pupils had just one minute to explore, plan, and photograph something that applied the technique. Selected images were shared and reviewed in plenum, with feedback guided by four principles:

𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘥, 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭, 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘦 🙏

With the fundamentals in place, 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮 raised the stakes: In groups of four, pupils planned and filmed a short, dialogue-free story told entirely through cinematic language — in just 20 minutes. Watching their progression from subconscious understanding to intentional storytelling was incredible. They were translating ideas into concise visual stories on the fly.

This reminded me of why I always break my own creative process into small, intentional steps. While cinematic language may seem effortless, it’s built on layers of theory, thought, and precision. The challenge — and the beauty — is in distilling that complexity into something apparent, compelling, and seemingly effortless.

The 67 pupils at Viby Efterskole already knew far more than they realized; they just needed the right tools and insights to express their own cinematic sentences.

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴? To take something intricate and translate it into a story so clear, so immediate, that the viewer automatically deciphers it on a subconscious level ✨
