Performed by Zhe Lin, this piece for snare drum and metal instruments demands absolute precision, control, and artistic instinct. Like the phenomenon it is named after, Ball Lightning unfolds with volatile energy — sudden bursts, shifting tension, and unpredictable momentum, where every gesture feels immediate and charged.

This new video interpretation is created by the unstoppable Roschkov Media Film- & Medienproduktion, delivering a cinematic experience that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Filmed on location at the still-active Fuglsang Maltfabrik, this project captures a unique meeting of music, industry, and atmosphere — offering a rare glimpse into the character and beauty of the factory.

We’ve just wrapped up an inspiring time at the Swedish Flute Festival in Sollentuna, just outside Stockholm. It was a pleasure connecting with flutists from around the world and strengthening our presence in Sweden.

One of the highlights was the evening concert by Daniel Berg and Fredrik Duvling—also known as Rhythm Art Duo—performing Daniel’s Second Concerto for flute and marimba. Daniel is one of the most performed classical composers in Sweden, and we’re proud to support his work and look forward to sharing a new project later this year.

We’re on our way to the Swedish Flute Festival, kicking off later today and running through Sunday.

What better opportunity than to visit Daniel Berg and his students in Stockholm? We were invited to share insights into how an innovative music publisher works across a wide range of projects.

We had some great discussions about the relationship between composer and publisher, and how a publisher can support not only the creative process itself, but also everything that follows — from recordings and production to gathering reviews, connecting with key figures in the field, and shaping the visual presentation of sheet music to make it as appealing as possible for performers and audiences alike. And we saw an insider glimse of Aaron Locklears new gem that will be revelaed later this year!

Daniel Berg is one of the most productive composers we’ve ever worked with — incredibly dedicated and active. Alongside his work at several conservatories, he performs numerous solo and chamber concerts each year and serves as a jury member at international competitions. Honestly, does he have more hours in the day than the rest of us?
