A little warning if you’re renting a car at Gatwick…
I booked a car through Norwegian for 649 DKK.
At the desk in Europcar Gatwick, the guy just asked if it was okay with an Audi automatic instead of the Ford I booked.
No one said anything about extra fees.
When I came home, I suddenly had a bill that was over 600 GBP higher than the agreed price.
All because they later claimed it was an “upgrade” – even though they never told me it cost anything.
Returned full tank, no damages, no problems… and still hit with a massive extra charge.
So here’s my advice:
If you fly to Gatwick, avoid Europcar.
Or at the very least, ask them about every single fee before you sign anything.
No one deserves a surprise bill like this.
