Announcement 2023:



Hello everybody! 😊



We know we have had a lot of “radio silence” on new dates and upcoming happenings for 2023.



We have had a bit more than 6 months to evaluate Tier1CON last year in Malmö and Copenhagen, and we have made a final decision for 2023 now.



There will NOT be any larger events for Tier1CON 2023.



We will focus on smaller events locally in Scandinavia for 2023 (50-500) people events. Supporting the grassroots for initiatives is vital for growth.

This means we will still do multiple (smaller - below 200 people) events ourselves, across multiple genres in TCG ( more to come.)



The reason is quite clear, the economy. We do not see us invest in larger events right now, looking into a global economic dip. Especially looking at the results from last year, this is too high a risk factor for us.



There is nothing we would love more than getting more events into these Trading card games we love so much, but we must admit that we will have to adjust our plans to the global trends and games.



Traditional formats in MTG are scattered, newer formats are very uncertain in attendance – There are new games popping up weekly, which ones can gather a crowd? and so many other questions, and we need to gather more data before we will venture into the large-scale events again (1000+)



But our goal is 100% to be back with larger scale events again! Until then, we will do all we can to support any initiative out there to get TCG rolling!

BALDUR'S GATE DRAFT AT TIER1CON

If you have yet not tried drafting Battle for Baldur's Gate, then we highly recommend that you check it out.

The format combines deckbuilding prowess (look at you go with your fancy Dimir Dungeons deck! 😎) with the multiplayer madness of regular Commander - it is an awesome experience and a ton of fun.

At Tier1Con Copenhagen, you get the chance to play in organized Battle for Baldur's Gate drafts both Saturday and Sunday at noon. Or if you prefer, you can buy a booster box in our store and draft it with your friends.

You can secure your seat in one (or both!) of the organized drafts by buying your ticket in advance:

TIER1CON COPENHAGEN: TRANSPORTATION

Tier1Con Copenhagen will once again take place at the Hotel Scandic Sluseholmen.

Situated 5 kilometres from the city centre, the hotel is a mere 10-minute drive from the airport, and roughly 30 minutes from Copenhagen Central Station.

We advise our foreign guests to download the free app "Rejseplanen" or go to https://www.rejseplanen.dk/ to easily identify how to get from A to B.

TIER1CON COPENHAGEN: THE VENUE

Tier1Con Copenhagen will once again take place at the Scandic Hotel Sluseholmen in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The hotel offers everything a Magic player could ask for, like free wifi, free parking, a delicious restaurant and a fully equipped bar.

The hotel's spaceous Congress Hall will serve as the heart of the event. It holds 550 people and will be filled to the brim with casual commander games, vendors, artists, tournaments and our stream studio. In the adjacent rooms you will find plenty of opportunities to draft, play side events, trade with friends, and whatever else your heart may desire.

The best part is that it is all FREE for you to enjoy. Sure, you have to pay to play in our organized tournaments, but entry into the venue is free of charge, and you can stay for as long as you like.

In fact, we encourage you all to come out and enjoy the atmosphere with us!

TIER1CON COPENHAGEN ALMOST UPON US

With Malmö in the books, Tier1MTG and Dragon Shield are now gearing up for our annual event at Hotel Scandic. Tier1Con Copenhagen will take place on August 5th-7th, 2022, and if commander is your jam, then this event is for you.

While Tier1Con Malmö focused mostly on traditional 1vs1 formats such as Modern, Legacy and Old School, Tier1Con Copenhagen will be centered entirely around multiplayer magic of all shapes and sizes.

Whether you want to kick back and draft Baldur's Gate all day or go full re**rd and participate in the cEDH World Championships, we've got you covered. You can also play in the Open Danish Duel Commander Championships, or throw yourself headfirst into the pandemonium that is Precon Commander.

Most importantly, you are of course most welcome to simply come out and play some casual games of Commander with your friends, old and new.

The restaurant and bar will be open throughout the weekend, and entry into the venue will be free of charge. You only pay to participate in organized tournaments and events. You can find a complete list of all tournaments and side events at our website linked below.

Here is your chance to bid on a very special unlimited Black Lotus. This Lotus was altered at the Tier1 con in Malmö sweden this weekend by myself and Mark Tedin on site. I painted the background in my signatur airbrush style, and Mark did the Juzam in the bottom. Collab pieces are very rare, so this is a one of the kind piece.
THIS IS NOT MY LOTUS. the Lotus is owned by my friend Dan sønderskov, the head of Tier1. Dan bought it so it could be altered at the con as a side event.
The card was black bordered with a black marker. So it was damaged. Witch made it perfect for altering ( see before pics in the comments, back is Hp.

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone for joining our event, we used 9 months on preparing and it was all worth it.

Thank you for tuning into the stream, we had 994 viewers as peak, which is amazing!

Thank you to all volunteers, judges, staff, community, casters, influencers and artists getting involved, you are truly the backbone of even remotely getting events like this to happen.

Thank you for being patient with the issues we had on tournaments. We had a dedicated team to sorting them out, and they worked as hard as possible to handle it, but we acknowledge there were issues, and we will do an evaluation to ensure we minimize these going forward.

Thank you for showing that there is still hope of creating events like this on a larger scale.

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate you taking the time to help us to improve.

Thank you to all the producers of all these fantastic games and support to make sure we are all able to enjoy events like this together.

So our last tournament of the event Legacy 5k, we sadly had an incident which is somewhat the worst situation for us who are planning and ex*****on.
We had booked the venue until midnight to make sure there was time to pack down the event and execute legacy. But we were told just before top 8, that this did not apply to private people, only staff etc.
This meant that we had to talk to the players how to deal with this - and i am really really happy that we found a solution.
The players in top 4 agreed to game on in the skybar at the hotel. We are so so so happy you were great sports, and we can only apologise but we did not know these rules.

Congratulations Daniel Peretz with winning our first Tier1CON Legacy 5k with your lands deck!

Thank you again for being true gentlemen and this is why we love gaming so much, its the game, but also the players who define it!
And thank you very much to everybody who attended, watched the streams, hung out! We were so happy to see each and every one of you.
