📍 DAY 1 - Charlottetown to Cavendish
Charlottetown Harbour > Point Prim Lighthouse + Hannah's Bottle Village > Wood Islands Lighthouse > Red Point Provincial Park > Basin Head Provincial Park (singing sands) > East Point Lighthouse > Greenwich Beach + Dunes Trail > St Peter's Harbour Lighthouse > Covehead Harbour Lighthouse

Stay: Cavendish

📍 DAY 2 - Cavendish to Confederation Bridge
McKenzie Brook (PEI National Park arch is no longer standing) > Green Gables Heritage Place > Cavendish Beach > Cape Tryon Lighthouse > Thunder Cove Beach (Teacup Rock is no longer standing) > Canadian Potato Museum > West Point Lighthouse > Confederation Bridge > Marine Rail Park Lighthouse in Summerside

I wish I had time for:
-Cape North Lighthouse,
-North Rustico Lighthouse,
-Victoria by the Sea — saving for next PEI trip.

PEI Road Trip Tips from this route:
→ Start your trip early,
→ Basin Head at low tide for singing sands
→ West Point Lighthouse Inn books out 4-6 months ahead in summer
→ McKenzie Brook arch collapsed winter 2024, Thunder Cove Teacup collapsed Dec 2023 — still worth seeing

CIVIC LONG WEEKEND ITINERARY ⬇️ Manitoulin Island from Toronto 🚗⛴️

Still looking for Aug long weekend plans?
World's largest freshwater island, 5 hrs from Toronto - and YES you can still go even if ferry is sold out!
YES - you have 2 ways to get there:

Option A - With Ferry (scenic): Toronto → Tobermory (4hr) | Chi-Cheemaun Ferry 1:15PM → South Baymouth 3PM

Option B - No Ferry Needed (my backup tip!): Drive straight via Sudbury → Little Current Swing Bridge - 6.5 hrs from Toronto, no reservation needed, and you get to drive over the iconic 110-year old Little Current Swing Bridge - one lane, swings open for boats!

My tried & tested 3-day route (Ferry ride):

DAY 1: Arrive via South Baymouth
-South Bay mouth - Lighthouse and Boardwalk
-Providence Bay Beach, Boardwalk & Sunset at Huron Sands

DAY 2:
-Sunrise at 10 Mile Point
- McLean's Mountain Lookout
- Cup & Saucer Trail (5km moderate, best views!) - - Bridal Veil Falls, Kagawong
- Old mill Heritage centre
- Janet Lighthouse
- Gore Bay & East Bluff Lookout

Day 3:
- Ojibwe Cultural Foundation
- Shop at local stores for handmade crafts
- Return to South Baymouth
- Drive back
