आजकल सोशल मीडिया पर समाजवादी पार्टी के MLC जासमीर अंसारी की तस्वीरें और पोस्ट्स हर तरफ़ छाई हुई हैं. हर तरफ बधाईयों का ऐसा तांता लगा हुआ है जैसे अब रातों रात उत्तर प्रदेश के मुसलमानों की तक़दीर बदल जायेगी. इसमें कोई दो राय नहीं है कि बहुजन समाज पार्टी से पलायन कर आए जासमीर एक विधायक के तौर पर एक अच्छे स्थानीय नेता साबित हुएं हैं जिन्होंने बसपा की हुकूमत के दौरान लहरपुर कस्बे में खूब विकास किया.

बाद में बसपा के अस्तित्व को ख़त्म होता देखकर समाजवादी पार्टी में शामिल हुए और विधानसभा का टिकट ना देकर सपा ने उन्हें प्रदेश भर के मुसलमानों का प्रतिनिधित्व करने लिए एमएलसी बना दिया और अब हाल ही में भाजपा ने उन्हें आश्वासन समिति का सभापति बनाया है. यानी विपक्ष और सत्ता दोनों ने मिलकर एक ऐसा चेहरा आगे कर दिया जो सिर्फ एक रबर स्टाम्प हो. एक व्यक्ति जो अपनी शपथ तक सही से नहीं ले पाया वो प्रदेश भर के मुसलमानों का प्रतिनिधित्व कर रहा है.

जासमीर अंसारी के पास न तो कोई मजबूत राजनीतिक स्टैंड है, न ही जनता की मुखर आवाज़ रखने की योग्यता. उत्तर प्रदेश जैसे राज्य में, जहाँ मुसलमानों के मुद्दे गंभीर हैं-बेरोज़गारी, शिक्षा में पिछड़ापन, सरकारी दमन, झूठे मुक़दमे ऐसे समय में उनके पास कोई प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाला नेता होना चाहिए था.लेकिन सपा और भाजपा दोनों ने मिलकर एक रबर स्टैम्प को आगे कर दिया. दरअसल भाजपा के पास विपक्ष में से इससे अच्छा कोई ऑप्शन ही नहीं था कि सांप भी मर जाए और लाठी भी न टूटे.

सोचिए, जो व्यक्ति अपनी शपथ तक सही से नहीं ले सकता, वह कैसे मंत्रियों और प्रशासन की जवाबदेही तय कर सकता है? क्या यही है वो लोकतंत्र और प्रतिनिधित्व है जिस पर मुसलमानों का भरोसा हो? उत्तर प्रदेश में कई काबिल, पढ़े-लिखे और जनता से जुड़े हुए मुस्लिम युवा मौजूद थे जिन्हें विधान परिषद भेजा जा सकता था , जो राज्य में मुसलमानों की स्थिति पर खुले तौर पर सवाल उठा सकते थे. लेकिन उनका रास्ता रोक कर, केवल इन जैसे रबर स्टाम्प को आगे कर दिया गया.

चूंकि भाजपा बहुत ही शातिर पार्टी है उसने आश्वासन समिति का सभापति बनाकर यह संदेश दिया कि हमने आश्वासन समिति का सभापति एक विपक्ष के प्रतिनिधि को बनाया एक तो सपाई ऊपर से मुसलमान (यानी हाथी के दांत खाने और हैं दिखाने के और हैं) जबकि हक़ीक़त यह है कि ऐसा रबर स्टाम्प सदस्य शायद भाजपा को स्वयं अपनी पार्टी में भी ना मिलता. जनता को बहलाने के लिए नेताओं के नाम के पीछे प्रतीकात्मक प्रतिनिधित्व रखा जा रहा है, जबकि असली मुद्दे अगली कतार में छोड़ दिए गए हैं.

यही वजह है कि आज उत्तर प्रदेश में मुसलमानों का प्रतिनिधित्व केवल चेहरों के सहारे किया जा रहा है, न कि ऐसे नेताओं के जरिए जो बोल सकें, सवाल कर सकें और जवाब माँग सकें. जनता को अब यह समझना होगा कि विपक्ष में ऐसे तमाम मुस्लिम नेता हैं जिनके सत्ता यानि सरकार के साथ इतने अच्छे संबंध हैं कि मुसलमानों की हर कमज़ोर नब्ज़ की सरकार और प्रशासन को ख़बर देते हैं. राज्य से लेकर केंद्र तक सैकड़ों ऐसे लोग भरे पड़े हैं. और सरकार इनपर मेहरबान रहती है.

A 28-year-old trainee doctor, Vrushabh Doshi, was arrested for allegedly r*ping a 24-year-old Moroccan woman in the ICU of Healthway Hospital in Old Goa. The woman, in India to work with an NGO, was admitted for a neurological condition. Doshi allegedly lifted her gown and touched her inappropriately during a check-up on August 31. He faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including r**e and assault. The hospital suspended him, and he was remanded to one-day custody after being nabbed in Maharashtra.

New Delhi: Ahammed Rabeeh, a Fraternity Movement candidate for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections, was allegedly assaulted by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members on September 10. The attackers reportedly tore his nomination form, preventing him from contesting. The Fraternity Movement condemned the “barbaric” act, demanding an attempt-to-murder case. Delhi Police are yet to register an FIR as tensions rise ahead of the polls.

A provocative video showing individuals allegedly linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) cutting a cake to mark the death anniversary of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) worker Syed Mohammad Salahuddin has triggered outrage in Kerala’s Kannur district. The clip, widely circulated on social media, shows a cake inscribed with “Pride, Kannavam Swayamsevaks” being sliced with a dagger, accompanied by firecrackers.

Salahuddin, 30, was brutally killed in 2020 in Kannavam, an incident previously linked to RSS and BJP workers. The video, posted by RSS-affiliated Instagram accounts, has been condemned by SDPI leaders as an attempt to stoke communal tensions. The Kannavam police have registered an FIR against unidentified individuals under charges of promoting enmity and rioting. In a significant ruling, a court in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, has directed police to register a murder case against six personnel for the alleged beating and killing of 24-year-old Muslim youth Wasim, whose body was dumped in a village pond. The incident, reported from Madhopur village under Gangnahar police station, has sparked outrage over custodial violence and attempts to frame it as a communal conspiracy involving beef.

The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday granted bail to Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan in a case alleging forced eviction of residents from Rampur's Dungarpur colony in 2016. Khan, 76, was sentenced to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment by a special MP-MLA court in May 2024 for allegedly orchestrating the demolition of homes as part of the Asara housing scheme, alongside charges of assault and criminal intimidation. CP Radhakrishnan, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate, has been elected as India’s Vice President, defeating the opposition’s INDIA bloc nominee, B Sudershan Reddy. Radhakrishnan secured 452 votes, while Reddy received 300 in the closely contested election held on Tuesday.
