Inspired by the resilient poppy flower, this sculptural table lamp translates fabric-like softness into a single, quiet form. Using 3D modeling and 3D printing, Unlit Design transformed organic petal shapes into a functional shade that shapes and directs light—pushing the limits of digital fabrication and sustainable materials (including recycled PLA and carbon fiber PLA).

A calm presence with quiet strength: where pleats meet polygons, and design becomes atmosphere.

As part of our Women in Design series, we speak with Patricia Anastassiadis, the acclaimed Brazilian architect, interior designer, and product innovator behind Anastassiadis Arquitetos, the São Paulo-based studio she founded at just 22 years old.

Guided by her Greek, Polish, and Jewish heritage and a design philosophy rooted in dialogue rather than monoculture, Anastassiadis creates timeless, story-driven architecture, interiors, and furniture that blend culture, craftsmanship, sustainability, and emotion.

MEET THE JURY | Professor Jenchieh Hung — Global Design News & The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design are honored to welcome Professor Jenchieh Hung as a juror for the Future House Awards.

Recognized as one of Asia's leading architects from Thailand, Professor Jenchieh Hung has established an international reputation through visionary architecture, groundbreaking research, and influential academic leadership. He is the Principal Architect of Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee / HAS design and research, and has served as a Juror for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) – RIBA International Awards. His distinguished academic appointments include Lifetime Honorary Professor at Kunming University of Science and Technology, Distinguished Professor at Huaqiao University, and Professor/Visiting Professor at Tongji University and Chulalongkorn University. Through both practice and academia, his work continues to redefine the relationship between architecture, culture, nature, and the future of cities.

In 2023, Professor Jenchieh Hung was appointed Exhibition Chairman and Principal Curator of The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA), where he curated the Infinity Ground Architecture Exhibition and the Asian Contemporary Architecture Exhibition—the world's first exhibition dedicated to contemporary Asian architects in collaboration with the Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA). As an internationally renowned architect, educator, curator, and juror for many of the world's leading design awards, Professor Jenchieh Hung brings exceptional insight, global perspective, and decades of professional expertise to the Future House Awards, reinforcing the program's commitment to architectural excellence and innovation.

MEET THE JURY|We are delighted to welcome Professor Kulthida Songkittipakdee as a juror for the Future House Awards, organized by Global Design News & The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

Kulthida Songkittipakdee is one of the most important female architects from Thailand, serving as Vice President of The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage and Honorary Professor of Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering. As Co-Founder and Principal Architect of the Bangkok-based firm Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee / HAS design and research, alongside Professor Jenchieh Hung, she has established an internationally acclaimed practice that redefines the relationship between architecture, culture, climate, and urban transformation.

Her work is recognized for merging rigorous architectural research with poetic spatial narratives rooted in Asian urban conditions and contemporary ecological thinking. She was the first Asian architect selected by the Renzo Piano Foundation to collaborate at the Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Paris, where she was involved in projects including the Jerome L. Greene Science Center at Columbia University and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Expansion.

In 2025, she was invited to serve as a juror for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) – RIBA International Awards: Asia Pacific Awards, as well as the Future House Awards organized by Global Design News & The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
