Due to my mother's health issues I have returned to my former State of residence so the church is closed. If the Church reopens it is up to the District leadership. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.

Thursday morning thought:
In Lukes gospel chapter 22 verses 1-2 it reads “Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called the Passover. 2 And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to put him to death, for they feared the people”. It would have been about this time in the Easter story, as we call it, that Jesus performed the greatest miracle in biblical history and resurrected Lazarus from the dead. Other people had been raised from the dead in biblical times but not after they had began to decompose. So people claimed those people were just semicomotose, so Jesus gave people solid proof of resurrection from the dead and the resurrection to come. Since the crowds following Jesus were quite large and growing, and the resurrection of Lazarus, they decided they needed to do away with Jesus. The Jewish leaders were afraid to lose their religious status and wanted a messiah that served their needs, kind of like religions still do today. We struggle with the true concept of a Jesus who does not necessarily fit into our beliefs. As we enter into the holy week let us focus on the true Messiah, not the one that we wish that was.
If you do not have a church home we worship from 21:00- noon on Sunday and would love ove to have you join us.

Thursday morning thought::
I was thinking the other day that it was said King Solomon was the wisest man to ever live. I am not certain that is true. Many years ago a wise man, Dr. B. Edgar Johnson, told me “wisdom is applied knowledge. You can obtain all kinds of knowledge but if you do not apply it to your life you will never be wise.” King Solomon did every thing God told him not to do. He amassed money, 666 talents of gold a year- that's the only time 666 is mentioned other than in the book of The Revelation.He amassed horses and chariots from Egypt. He married foreign wives who lead him astray. God gave him the knowledge not to do those things, but he never applied it to his life so I am not certain he was so wise. We do not always apply knowledge to our life either. We can have biblical knowledge but if we do not apply it to our life we are not wise. The same can be said of other types of knowledge also. We can be wise in recovery but if we do not apply it to our life we tend to relapse. if we do not apply knowledge to our life we never become wise, we only have a head full of knowledge.
Until we meet again on social media or in person, blessings to you.

Thursday morning thought:

Dr. Billy Graham said “there are three persons. The person you think you are. The person that others think that you are. And the person that God knows you are." I have thought about this recently and thought about how we put on masks. Years ago I was talking to a friend and said “your wife seems like such a nice person and so easy going”. So he responded with "the wife you see and the wife I live with are not the same person. She’s nice but like all of us she puts on a mask in public so others see her as she wishes to be seen". When I thought about that I am somewhat the same way likely all of us are. We are not the same person at home as we are in public. But God sees us as we truly are. Our flaws, our shortcomings, our thoughts- He knows them all. He knows us personally and sees us as we truly are.

The whole intent of worshipping the pagan god like Baal was the manipulation of god by human actions. The hope that if they worshipped well enough their god would bless them. I wonder how many times Christians have a Baal worshippers attitude towards God and believe that they can as humans manipulate God if they worship the right way?

When you get to the end of who you want God to be, you will find the God who is.
