“The City Devoured”
The rain had not stopped for days. Torrents from the mountains surged down like thousands of raging dragons. The once-bustling city, alive with lights and laughter, was now drowned beneath the roar of nature. The great river, usually calm and steady, had turned into a monstrous beast, swallowing streets, cars, and everything in its path.
High-rise buildings—the pride of the people—began to tremble. The ground cracked open beneath them, while the furious flood battered their foundations. One massive apartment block, home to hundreds of families, leaned dangerously to one side. Screams erupted, children cried, furniture crashed down. The entire city gasped in horror as the towering structure tilted and collapsed into the raging current.
Amid the chaos, rescue workers risked their lives, plunging into the violent waters. With ropes, life vests, and sometimes only their bare hands, they pulled people from the jaws of death. A mother clutched her child tightly, tears mixing with rain, but her steps remained unyielding as she followed the beam of a rescuer’s flashlight. An old man trembled as two young soldiers carried him across the swirling current, whispering prayers of survival.
The city was shattered, yet within the cries and the roar of the flood, sparks of hope still glimmered—hope born of courage, compassion, and unity. Nature could take away homes, but it could never drown the human spirit.
