Skype Will Be Retired in May 2025 – Transitioning to Microsoft Teams

Dear students and parents,

Please note that Skype will stop working in May 2025, as Microsoft is retiring the platform. This change applies to all Skype users.

Our school currently uses Skype for lessons, but we will gradually transition to Microsoft Teams Free in the coming months to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.

What you need to know:
• You can use Microsoft Teams Free with your Skype login (email and password).
• Your contacts and chat history will be automatically moved to Teams.
• You’ll receive a notification in Skype when it’s time to transfer.
• No new Skype features or subscriptions will be available after April 2025.

We will provide clear instructions and support to help you move to Teams. Teachers will continue to offer lessons without interruptions, and we’ll make sure the transition is as simple as possible.

📞 Try Calling Michael - He Might Be at Home! 🏠

Understanding the use of “try” in different contexts can make a significant difference in your language skills! 🌟 Here are two examples that illustrate the difference between using “try to” and “try + verb in another form”:

1️⃣ Try to phone Michael – This means that calling Michael might be difficult, and you have to put in effort because you may not succeed. 📞💪 For example:

• Try to walk (your leg is injured)
• Try to sleep (there’s a lot of noise in the house)

2️⃣ Try phoning Michael – This suggests experimenting with calling Michael to see if he is at home. It’s not a challenging task; you just need to give it a go and see what happens. 📞🤞

Language Tip: Use “try to” when the action is difficult and requires effort. Use “try + verb in another form” when you are experimenting with an action.
