Now open at Narva Art Residency (NART): "Taganemisteeta | Point of No Return | Точка невозврата", an exhibition that addresses the issues of presence and interconnectedness in the times of ecological uncertainty. You can find two interviews by one of the curators, Ann Mirjam Vaikla, from the 2/2020 issue (The Anthropocene Issue) of the Estonian Art magazine. One of them with the artist Sandra Kosorotova on the community garden of NART.

The artist Sandra Kosorotova participated in the artist-in-residency programme at NART during the summer, where she worked on a community garden project. She started with a single, elevated 1.4 × 1.4 metre vegetable bed, where she was growing mostly edible cultured plants: radish, kale and courgett...

Eike Eplik. Biomass – Ghost in the Corner Tartu, Kogo Gallery, 14.03.2020 – 30.05.2020 Where is the biomass? It’s hard to detect it in the streets, so I should go into the park. There are many hazy figures, some of them human, some not, but still I cannot find biomass among them. No sign of bi...

"Leisure Spaces. Holidays and Architecture in 20th Century Estonia" at the Estonian Museum of Architecture/Eesti Arhitektuurimuuseum is open now. The exhibition gives an overview of Estonia's rich Soviet-era holiday and summer cottage architecture heritage. For the spring issue of Estonian Art, curator Triin Ojari wrote about the multi-layered collection of architectural and leisure photographs by architect and amateur photographer Enno Raag (1926–2006). Read more about it here:

Archives can be more or less complete, reach us anonymously or with detailed descriptions, consist of dispersed fragments from which everyone can put together their own new world. This random aspect of the specific material composition of archives, and the resulting infinite possibilities for interp...
