Have you ever felt stuck? We have - Stuck in Europe.
We needed to be in Southern Spain for Saskia's swimming camp by the end of October, which meant a two-month-long road-trip in Europe.
Because we're bad at planning, one month of the two months in Europe was in Spain (the gallery is from Spain). We're lucky, though, that Spain had a lot to offer (some nice hikes) - so we mostly never felt bored, and Spain, in the end, was much better than our experiences in Italy and France (but not Switzerland, that's the best).
Can't help but feel, that Europe, in the end, as a whole, was a bit of a waste of money, though. Maybe if it was high season, then it would have been better (or we would have chosen the locations away from the beaches - but what would interest us?), but it wasn't high season and we stayed next to the beaches and the beaches were empty and without toilets and the weather wasn't that warm to go for a swim every day in most places (you could and wouldn't get frostbite, but it doesn't call for you).
It's probably just us. We just don't know how to have a vacation.
A vacation for us: Beach > hike > beach > shopping > hike > switch locations, repeat. And that's just because one would get too tired if one would hike every day.
For others it would probably be more like: beach, shopping, resting day, city sightseeing, hike, resting day, shopping, restaurants, pubs, beach, blablabla. And if you take the beach out of the formula, then it's still fun. But that's not us. Our budget doesn't allow us to just go shopping and restaurants and pubs and we don't care about the churches and museums... and a resting day... What is that even?
Luckily we'd move on to Costa Rica from here, that's surely going to be better?!
