Free Agency opened up around the Northern Premier Hockey League on June 1st! ✍️ 🟠⚫️🟣

🏒 NPHL Free Agency Opens June 1 at 12:00 PM!

The offseason action is about to heat up!

Free Agency for the Northern Premier Hockey League officially opens on Saturday, June 1 at 5:00 PM — and this year introduces a major new twist.

May 15th will see the NPHL lift its roster freeze allowing teams to conduct transactions such as trades, resigning of players already on rosters and releasing of players.

For the first time, players who were on a team roster last season but did not appear in any games will be eligible to enter free agency unless their team has protected them. This new rule creates fresh opportunities for players and adds an exciting layer of strategy for teams across the league.

League President had this to say about the way ahead with free agency:

“We need to allow player movement in this league in order to bring new life to rosters, while also protecting team’s interests” “This new policy will shape the way we conduct our business in the future and is an exciting new feature in the league”.

Whether you’re looking to build a championship roster or find the right fit to get back on the ice, June 1 marks the start of an offseason like no other.

The Akwesasne Senior “A” Wild are proud to announce a monumental acquisition- We’ve acquired Stevie Ray Adams, Cory Garrow, Storm Adams, and Tye Terrance from the Manotick Mariners.

All four players hail from right here in Akwesasne!!

This isn’t just any acquisition- it’s a homecoming. These athletes have represented Akwesasne with pride throughout their careers, and now have the chance to suit up for their community on home ice!
