The Alex Media Forum was established in 2012 to Act as the melting point between new technologies and media. The main aim of the AMF is to enhance and support the local/ community media scene in the Arab World using what so ever tools and methods to reach this goal including adequate training and mentoring.
Choosing to pay attention to the community media emerges as a result of popular movements that strive to attain an important space in citizen participation and demand the right to own and operate free from political or commercial interference.
The Alexandria Media Forum has been held yearly since then on a yearly basis ensuring that it isn't just another forum and not even a typical conference, we emphasis that the AMF is a meeting point for media dreamers who are willing to interact and learn in a professional yet interactive and friendly environment.
The forum issued 5 hand books with several topics covering wide range of media related topics. Also we are in the process of issuing a book about how to brand a journalist in the digital age.
In December 2016, the Alex Media Forum won the prestigious Arab Creativity Prize. The prize is presented yearly by the Arab Thought Foundation (Al-Fikr AlArabi) international, independent and non-governmental organization.
