Dear Gents,

This accident happed to my friend,

I got the following details :


((( I contacted the company, ZMOS and have received the following:

“We regret to report that on the evening of Monday, March 17, 2014, there was a diver fatality in connection with operations carried out from the vessel Zamil 403 whilst offshore in Saudi Arabia in the Arabian Gulf. The facts known at present are as follows:

The diver, Mr. Youssef Khater ( ID No.509635 – Rer.No. CS10/596//274) , a 36 year old Egyptian national, was working on a pipeline at a depth of 29 meters when communications with the vessel were lost. The stand-by diver was deployed and found Mr. Khater unconscious with his diving helmet removed. Efforts to resuscitate Mr. Khater were undertaken upon reaching the surface but were unsuccessful.

Mr. Khater’s next of kin have been notified and the incident is now under full investigation. Further information will be released as the investigation proceeds.)))

Plus the above information, I got the following information from some guys onsite :

1- The standby diver found the diver without his helmet (KM37). (The helmet found closed with the Neck-Dam).
2- In the Video recording There is a very sharp voice of pressure start suddenly and increased in 4 sec (on my opinion it's coming from the helmet). then the helmet has been socket.
3- The standby diver takes 8 min until reach to the diver !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4- The standby diver pull the dive to the wet bell !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Situation now :

1- First investigation done with that accident happened as ((Predestination)).
2- Due to many leakage in the investigation as well the investigator missing the diving technicality and the diving documents knowledgement, one of the diver (Youssef Kater) relative(Mr. Ehab- 00966500043537- email: [email protected]) pushing to make anther investigation that will be today, unfortunately the same investigator will going to do his job again !!!!!.
3- We Request to send one Diving supervisor to be on board as a representative from our side during this investigation but they (ARAMCO & Subtech) refuse even to give us any Doc. Or any video Recording.


Dear Gents,
As you are the response of any contractors in this worldwide filed I beseech you to be our reference in this case.

We needs :
1- The active action to prevent such that accident to happen again.
2- I'm sure there is a mistake (failure with some part of the diving panel- Tescom or relief valve – makes the high pressure deliver to the helmet) .
3- Due to the above slovenliness we needs the complete compensation to deliver to his family (wife and 3 childrens).

حادثة غوص .... حالة إنسانية ....
السادة الأعضاء المحترمين ..... أثناء العمل على رفع أجزاء مركب تم تقطيعها في الإسكندرية تم حدوث حادثة غوص ووصل الأمر إلى وصول فقاعه هواء إلى الجهاز العصبي بالمخ وأخرى قريبه من القلب أدى ذلك إلى شلل رباعي كامل ويتلقى العلاج في البحرية المصرية و الحمد لله الحالة في تحسن لكن للظروف الخاصة به و مع طول فترة العلاج وعدم قدرته على أعاله اسرتة و أطفاله مع تكاليف العلاج و الجلسات و الانتقالات من مسكنه بالعوايد إلى البحرية المصرية بالانفوشى.
وتم إخطارنا بالأمس فقط وانتقالنا إلى مسكنه على الفور واستلامنا التقرير الطبية الخاصة به واتخاذنا الإجراءات القانونية حسب لائحة النقابة مع صرف مبلغ لأعاله أسرته وشراء الأدوية الخاص به .
يحتاج إلى :-
1- يتلقى علاج كل 15 يوم ب 215 جنيها.
2- لدية 20 جلسه غرفه ابتداء من 1-3-2014 ب 50 جنيها للجلسة الواحدة.
3- لدية 15 جلسه أزون.
4- الانتقالات من مسكنة بالعوايد إلى البحرية المصرية بالانفوشى و العودة طوال فترة الجلسات.
5- مساعدته على أعاله أسرة في ظل الوضع الراهن.
