Update on the sham trial (Day105):
He hit them with just a single word - posterity. They had to adjourn the court to go chew on it.
During the 105th session today, the First Vice President of the Republic and the Chairman and C-in-C of SPLM/A(IO), Dr. Riek Machar had his day, though brief, in court. After taking the stand, he made a very simple, albeit logical request. He asked the sham court that his testimony be videotaped and audiotaped for “posterity”. Not knowing what hit them, the judges didn’t know what to make of the request and the prosecution needed more time to prepare a written response to it. The court was adjourned, just like that.
Prosecution: needed time to prepare a written response to Dr. Machar’s request that his testimony be properly documented for posterity (for young people, this means “all future generations”)
Defense: rested in support of its client
Judges: adjourned the hearing until Monday August 10, 2026 when Dr. Machar will take the stage in addition to hearing the ruling on his request.
Analysis: The sham court is overwhelmed. The prosecution is tired trying to keep up a lie and a nasty conspiracy. The world is converging on the truth, and Juba is running out of time trying to conclude the conspiracy with a fake election. The case and the poorly cooked conspiracy are collapsing simultaneously in the open.
Score: Prosecution - 95 : Defense - 6. In a non Kangaroo court, it would have been 101-Nil in favor of the Defense.
Fate of the case -> predetermined but collapsing.
