Daniel Coyle vrooms with his awarded Porsche Macan around Casas Novas arena and banks around €35k in prize money following his CSI3* Porsche Grand Prix win with his mare Daydream.
Synopsis:
- Only 6 out of 29 combinations advanced to the jump-off including a Spanish rider - much to the crowd’s delight.
- The first to go was Olympic champion Christian Kukuk on Chageorge; they cleared their round in 41.89 seconds. He was followed by Richard Vogel on Qaparezzo-A, who carried 4 faults but finished in 39.67 seconds.
- Having watched Coyle dominate many of the classes over the past 3 weeks at Spruce Meadows competitions in Canada, we knew he would be incredibly fast. Riding Daydream, he cleared the jump-off in an impressive 38.56 seconds.
- Abdel Said’s intense focus and facial expressions made it clear he was determined to beat Coyle’s time; perhaps he really wanted that Macan?
- Riding Calvaro, he pushed hard but not hard enough - and finished in 39.13 seconds - closely contesting the lead.
- Christian Kukuk in third place. Javier Gonzalez Fraga in fourth. Darragh Kenny in fifth and Richard Vogel in 6th.
