Her Royal Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi of Sharjah honoring the collaboration between our film and the work of !!! Maria Assi (receiving the award with Marco) lead the building of 47 schools for refugee kids in Lebanon. These stories, told by Syrian children and giving a powerful and unbiased perspective on the aftermath of the war, were made possible in large part by her work helping kids deal with trauma through music, art, and education. Our collaboration was about giving the kids a chance to share their thoughts on the situation they have inherited, although they played no part in creating it. A sincere thank you to Her Royal Highness, she is a vision of class: an incredibly kind host, humble about the fabulous work she does educating youth, and making every effort to ensure her guests were well attended to. Thank you also to the safezone team! and 😘
