Cinematography with Mohamed Azmy 🎥

This workshop is designed to equip participants with the necessary tools to become a cinematographer and/or focus puller in the film industry.

In this workshop, participants will learn about all types of camera lenses, filters and film equipment. Participants will also get the chance to examine lighting techniques and how to employ them in different areas of drama, as well as, explore composition and camera movement in relation to drama. This workshop also delves into the relationship between directing and cinematography and ways a DOP can interpret the script and translate it into an expression of art. By the end of this workshop, participants will be well equipped to film their very own short movie.

Animation Character Design with Feras Mokhtar ✍🏻

In this workshop participants will examine how to define a character’s proportions and the difference of ratio between real and animated characters, as well as, how to take advantage of real characters in terms of shape and features to turn them into animated characters. Participants will also explore the importance of exaggeration and ways to control it to achieve an appropriate form for the animated character.

The workshop is designed to help participants practice drawing characters’ details such as the head, hands, feet, features, directions, different facial expressions, in motion and in different positions. Participants will also learn how to draw animals, birds, machines, cars, tools, mythical and imaginary characters and turn them into animated characters. By the end of this workshop, participants will acquire skill in drawing and coloring animated characters on the MOHO program.

This workshop is designed to introduce participants to the wide range of editing elements and visual effects, especially ones that mimic reality. Participants will be producing, editing, moving, and integrating artistic elements and materials into 2D and 3D surroundings on Adobe After Effects.

Filmmaking for Kids with Maryam Shafik. 🎬

This workshop aims to engage kids with the art of filmmaking through very little theory and many practice. Participants will learn all about the essentials of filmmaking whilst practicing the information they receive instantly through activities. This ensures that all the information the participants receive, is embedded in their minds to easily apply later.
After being equipped with the necessary tools they need, participants will spend the last 3 days of this workshop bringing their own film to life.

This workshop is structured to help you get started on the journey of picture book writing. Participants will be equipped to identify how children’s books meet different needs of children, types of children’s books, and what makes a good book. This workshop is aimed at helping beginner artists to build on their natural skill set. We will delve into and identify your sound’s texture, it’s capabilities, and its boundaries.
