Realizing that the youth age is the most efficient of understanding and executing, JEN-Youth was established in 2009 by Japan Embassy in Egypt creating JEN (Japan Egypt Network). Accordingly, JEN-Youth are volunteer members working as representative staff for JEN and working on narrowing the gap between Japan and Egypt through its activities. At the first stage, JEN-Youth activities were only "cul
tural exchange events" in Japan foundation in Cairo, Egypt. At that stage, JEN-Youth target was to support the Egyptian students studying Japanese language and also the Arabic language studying Japanese students in Egypt to make the best use of their language study. However, as JEN-Youth members seek to improve JEN-Youth as much as possible, in 2010 JEN-Youth could started a long term co-operation with Japanese organizations in Japan (i.e. JMESC "Japan Middle East Student Conference" & ISA "International Students Association"). Through that co-operation, JEN-Youth welcomes about 10~15 Japanese students from Japan who come to Egypt every year presenting cultural events about Japanese - Egypt culture and society by them and JEN-Youth. Not only that, but also, JEN-Youth take them on a field trip in Egypt to introduce the Egyptian culture closer to them presenting home stay programs with Egyptian hosting families. In addition, through that co-operation, JEN-Youth sends about 3 ~ 5 members every year to be representing Egypt, JEN-Youth and the Egyptian culture closer to the Japanese community. Besides, as JEN-Youth seeks to fill and meet all requirements of Japanese and Arabic language students as much as possible, JEN-Youth started to hold an annual "Speech Contest" for the Egyptian and Japanese students starting 2013 as a motivation and support for them to do their best in their study by competing through these competitions. Through that activities and further activities in the future we keep working hard narrowing more and more the distance between Japan and Egypt not only culture based but also on a national level
