“The Baby Monitor”
We just had our first child, and like every new parent, we’re paranoid. So we set up a baby monitor with audio and night vision.
Everything was fine for the first couple of weeks. One night around 2 a.m., I woke up to a faint whisper coming from the monitor.
I turned up the volume.
It wasn’t my baby.
It was a woman’s voice, soft and slow:
"Shhh… you’ll wake your parents."
I bolted into the nursery. My daughter was sound asleep. I checked the monitor—no one was there.
Thinking it was interference, I ignored it.
Two nights later, it happened again. Same voice, same whisper.
But this time she said:
"They’re coming tonight."
I stayed awake with a kitchen knife until sunrise. Nothing happened.
Until I checked the footage.
At exactly 3:12 a.m., a shadow passes over the crib.
But the door never opened.
