Under his reign, ancient architecture took a leap forward with the construction of the Step Pyramid at Saqqara — the first pyramid ever built in human history! 🏛️✨
Designed by his genius architect Imhotep, this pyramid changed the course of history and laid the foundation for all that followed in ancient Egypt.
Standing tall for over 4,700 years, Djoser’s legacy is carved in stone — quite literally.

✨ The Golden Mask of Psusennes I ✨
This breathtaking funerary mask belonged to Pharaoh Psusennes I, a ruler of Egypt’s 21st Dynasty. It was discovered in 1940 by French archaeologist Pierre Montet in the royal tombs of Tanis (modern-day San el-Hagar).

Crafted from solid gold, the mask portrays the king with an idealized face, wearing the royal nemes headdress crowned with a uraeus cobra, and a wide usekh collar — symbols of divine kingship and eternal protection.

Unlike most tombs, Psusennes I’s burial remained largely intact, making this mask one of the most important royal treasures ever found — often called “The Silver Pharaoh” for his silver coffin, yet remembered for this golden masterpiece.
