British boxer Fabio Wardley revealed the immense physical difficulties he faced after his intense fight against Frazer Clarke, which ended in a draw in March. He had to resort to a diet of only ice cream and pasta due to injuries to his face and jaw.

"I had a massive headache, I couldn't sleep, and my face was completely distorted. My nose was stitched, and I bit my tongue countless times. I couldn't chew for three days, so I was eating only pasta and ice cream," Wardley told The Times.

Despite the tough recovery, Wardley said this is the "real price of fighting". "If you're scared of that feeling, your style changes, and you become more vulnerable to defeat.

In the same fight, Wardley scored a knockout in the fifth round, while Clarke drew on points. However, in the rematch six months later, Wardley won convincingly by knockout in the first round, sending Clarke to the hospital.

Wardley is now preparing to face Australian Justis Huni on Saturday at Portman Road Stadium in Ipswich, his hometown. Huni is a tough opponent, having won the 2016 World Youth Amateur Championship, the same year Wardley had his first unlicensed fight.

Regarding his rapid development in boxing, Wardley said, "I never imagined I'd get here. I started from unlicensed rings, and now I'm headlining events in Saudi Arabia and fighting in my hometown in front of my fans. I feel like I'm on the cusp of my dream of winning a world title. Just saying that sounds crazy".
