The Northrop Grumman B‑2 Spirit, often called the “Ghost of the Sky,” is one of the most advanced stealth bombers ever built. Developed by the American company Northrop Grumman for the United States Air Force, this aircraft is famous for its ability to evade radar detection and pe*****te heavily defended airspace.
The B-2 Spirit uses advanced stealth technology, a special flying-wing design, and radar-absorbing materials that make it extremely difficult for enemy radar systems to detect or track. Because of these capabilities, it is often described as a “stealth ghost” in the sky.
This strategic bomber has an impressive range of about 11,000 kilometers (around 6,800 miles) without refueling, allowing it to reach targets almost anywhere in the world. It can carry both conventional and nuclear weapons, with a payload capacity of about 18,000 kilograms (40,000 pounds).
The B-2 is also one of the most expensive aircraft ever built. The cost of a single plane is estimated at around $2.1 billion, making it a symbol of high-tech military engineering.
The United States originally planned to build many more, but due to the enormous cost, only 21 B-2 bombers were produced. Today, about 20 remain in service with the U.S. Air Force.
