Volunteer Opportunities at AI 4 Ocean
About AI 4 Ocean: AI 4 Ocean is an innovative project aimed at leveraging machine learning models to serve the marine conservation domain. Our project focuses on the development of a web and mobile application to assist in the identification of various marine species, including corals, sharks, individual white tip sharks, manta rays, and fish species. We are currently seeking enthusiastic volunteers to contribute to this groundbreaking effort in marine biodiversity preservation.
Volunteer Roles:
1. Data Research and Collection Volunteers
• Responsibilities: Collaborate with marine biologists and divers to collect underwater images; assist in data organization and management.
• Requirements: Interest in marine biology, basic understanding of data management, ability to work collaboratively.
2. Machine Learning Assistants
• Responsibilities: Support the development and testing of machine learning models; assist in data labeling and preprocessing.
• Requirements: Basic knowledge of machine learning and AI; familiarity with Python or similar programming languages is a plus.
3. App Development Support
• Responsibilities: Assist in developing and testing the web and mobile applications; contribute to UI/UX design and backend development.
• Requirements: Experience or interest in software development; knowledge of web and mobile application development frameworks.
4. Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinators
• Responsibilities: Engage with the marine conservation community, organize online forums and social media campaigns.
• Requirements: Strong communication skills, experience in social media management, passion for community outreach.
5. Beta Testers and Feedback Analysts
• Responsibilities: Participate in beta testing of the applications; analyze user feedback for improvements.
• Requirements: Attention to detail, analytical skills, willingness to provide constructive feedback.
