ريق تعلمنا منه الكثير. بحصيلة 18 فيلم و60 جائزة من مهرجانات عالمية، تمكنا من خلق بيئة داعمة لرؤى وطموحات صناع السينما الشباب بظهير من صناع السينما الأكثر خبرة وتمرس. في السنوات الأخيرة، تسعى شركة ريد ستار الى دفع الحدود المحلية الى أبعد مما سبق، عبر المشاركة في إنتاج أفلام عراقية وسودانية وسورية وفلسطينية وسعودية. بالتوجه لجمهور أوسع عبر تأمل الديناميكيات الاجتماعية لثقافات مختلفة، نأمل أن نسلط الضوء على تقاطع أشكال التمييز. هناك عدد لا يحصى من القصص التي تستحق أن تروى، ونحن نحاول أن نلعب دورا تراكميا في عملية السرد المعقدة هذه. نسعى الى العمل جنبا الى جنب مع جميع المهتمين بما يطلق عليه الجنوب العالمي ومع كل المؤمنين بأن هناك قضايا عابرة للقوميات أيا كان شكلها الخارجي. Founded in 2014, Red Star Films, is an Egyptian company that took solid steps towards bridging the gap between independent and commercial films with an outlook that constantly chooses innovation over guaranteed profit, we take pride in establishing a reputation for being a non-conforming entity, constantly pushing the dictates of the local market and the mainstream culture that goes with it. Propping first time script writers and directors and dealing with controversial topics has been the path we learned a lot from. With a repertoire of 18 films reaping 60 awards from various international film festivals, we created a milieu in which young filmmakers put forth and exhibit their own distinctive visions with the support of more experienced cast and crew members. In recent years, Red Star Films has been pushing the local boundaries further, co-producing Iraqi, Sudanese, Syrian, Palestinian and Saudi films. In appealing to a wider audience through creatively reflecting on the social dynamics of various cultures, we hope to shed light on intersectionality. There is an infinite amount of stories that need to be told and we try to play an accumulative role in that intricate process. We seek to work alongside people who are interested in the Global South and who believe that certain issues are transnational whatever color they take.

The Jerusalem Arab Film Festival has granted director Rasha Chahine’s “A Passing Day” the European Union Award for Best Short Film. Recently, the film received the Black Iris Award for Best Short Film at the Amman Film Festival.

Tonight, director Rasha Chahine’s short film “A Passing Day” will be screened within the proceedings of the Jerusalem Arab Film Festival at Al-Hakawati Theatre as part of the short films list (3) at 5:00 PM.

The jury of Amman Film Industry Days; the professional and industry arm of Amman International Film Festival - Awal Film (AIFF)- has announced that director Jad Chahine’s “Masters of Magic and Beauty” received two awards.
The first is a $7,000 cash award for an Arab project in development; first film, by the Royal Film Commission in Jordan. The second is a $5,000 cash award from the Red Sea Fund for a first-ever film project in development.

“Masters of Magic and Beauty” is produced by Red Star Films and Film Square Productions and creative producer Yousry Nasrallah.

أعلنت لجنة تحكيم ايام عمان لصناع الافلام الذراع المهني والصناعي لمهرجان عمّان السينمائي الدولي – أول فيلم، عن حصول مشروع "أسياد الجمال والسحر" للمخرج جاد شاهين جائزتين.
الاولي جائزة نقدية قيمتها 7000 دولار لمشروع عربي قيد التطوير – أول فيلم، مقدمة من الهيئة الملكية الأردنية للأفلام، اما الثانية جائزة نقدية قدرها 5000 دولار من صندوق البحر الأحمر عن مشروع فيلم أول قيد التطوير.

The international “Variety” has published a report on the projects chosen for the competitive project marketing platforms at the Amman International Film Festival for filmmakers.
The projects include director Jad Chahine’s “Masters of Magic and Beauty” which was selected among the Arab projects in the development section and is to be released on July 5th at Al Balad Square.

After receiving two awards last year at the Amman International Film Festival, Dina Nasser’s short film “Amplified” is to be screened as part of the free public screening of short films at the Abdali Boulevard tomorrow, Friday, July 4th, at 7 PM (Jordan Time).
“Amplified” won the Arab Shorts Audience Award and Franco Arab Rendezvous Youth Jury Award.
Director Sandro Canaan’s short film “The Other Cheek” is to be screened at the Abdali Boulevard tomorrow, Friday, July 4th, at 7 PM (Jordan Time).
In 2021, the film won the Black Iris Award.

بعد حصوله على جائزتين العام الماضي من مهرجان عمان السينمائي الدولي، يعرض الفيلم القصير " سكون" للمخرجة دينا ناصر ضمن العروض العامة والمجانية للأفلام القصيرة في قاعة بوليفارد العبدلي غدا الجمعة 4 يوليو الساعة 7م بتوقيت الأردن.
وكان فيلم سكون قد حصل على جائزة الجمهور لأفضل فيلم عربي قصير، وجائزة لجنة التحكيم الشابة في قسم موعد مع السينما الفرنسية العربية.
كما سيعرض أيضا الفيلم القصير "الخد الآخر" للمخرج ساندرو كنعان ضمن هذه العروض، في قاعة بوليفارد العبدلي غدا الجمعة 4 يوليو الساعة 7م بتوقيت الأردن، حيث حصل عام 2021 على جائزة السوسنة السوداء من المهرجان.

Founded in 2014, Red Star managed to produce 14 films pertaining to various genres and received 60 film awards from profound International film festivals around the world. 14 feature films, 9 short films, and a documentary are the overall outcome of the company’s work.

We take pride in the fact that most of our productions propped first-time directors and screenwriters, making it possible for them to put forth and exhibit their own distinctive visions with the support of established cast and crew members acting as our leaders’ pillars.

Red Star’s key goal is to bridge the gap between art-house and commercial cinema, creating a milieu in which young filmmakers feel empowered and backed-up enough to experiment without compromising their artistic integrity.
