Their unbreakable will and unity during the fight for independence continue to inspire generations across Africa and beyond.

But Eritrea is not only defined by its history—its natural beauty is equally breathtaking. The untouched beaches of the Red Sea, the rolling green hills of the highlands, and the rich cultural heritage woven into every village and town make it a hidden gem waiting to be explored.

Inevitable 's disintegration✍️

Ethiopia is inching closer to state failure, driven by a lethal combination of ethnic division, incompetent leadership, fabricated history, and failed expansionist ambitions.

The ethnic federal system, designed to manage diversity, has instead deepened fractures. It has institutionalized division, encouraged regional rivalries, and fueled recurring ethnic conflicts. Each region now behaves like a separate nation, armed and suspicious of the other—eroding any real sense of unity.

Governance in Ethiopia has failed catastrophically. Leaders have prioritized control over reconciliation, propaganda over truth, and militarism over reform. Incompetent leadership, often reactive and out of touch, has only made crises worse—whether in Tigray, Oromia, or Amhara.

To distract from internal failures, the government has at times pushed vague expansionist ambitions, including narratives around sea access and Red Sea politics. These unrealistic and provocative ideas only strain regional relations and expose Ethiopia’s insecurity rather than strength.

On top of this, Ethiopia’s official history has long been manipulated to glorify certain ethnic elites while erasing the suffering and contributions of others. This revisionist past, treated as fact, has left deep scars and resentment—especially among historically oppressed groups.

Ethiopia won’t survive on myths, military campaigns, or forced unity. Without honest dialogue, inclusive governance, and a complete overhaul of its toxic political framework, disintegration is not just possible—it’s likely.

Eritreans Feel Betrayed by Abiy Ahmed: A Modern-Day Judas?

(EP) - According to the Distributed AI Research Institute (DAIR), pro-government voices in Ethiopia with substantial online followings have been disseminating aggressive rhetoric against Eritrea. Reports indicate that the Ethiopian government employs around 30,000 paid social media activists across various regions in the country, just to post content against Eritrea. This rhetoric and hate-filled content surged following Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's threat (pictured) to a “neighbouring” country concerning access to the Red Sea, where he declared, “If we don't succeed now, our children will, by force.”

In Asmara, the Eritrean government and many citizens responded slowly to this aggressive rhetoric, largely dismissing it as an attempt by Abiy to garner attention and divert focus from the political upheaval within Ethiopia. Many believed that Abiy was leveraging inflammatory language to shift attention away from pressing domestic issues and to consolidate support amid rising discontent among the Ethiopian populace.

However, as time passes and the rhetoric escalates, Eritreans, feeling betrayed by Abiy’s “backstabbing” words, have started to express their anger and frustration. This sentiment is particularly poignant given the affection they extended to him in 2018, when he became the first Ethiopian leader in two decades to visit Eritrea, bringing peace offerings with him. They also remembered how their military efforts were pivotal in Abiy's existence, especially during the conflict with the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), which was viewed as a formidable aggressor.

Eritrea had stood by Abiy’s government during a tumultuous period, and this alliance was seen as mutually beneficial for both nations. Yet, Abiy's recent hostile and ungrateful statements ignited a sense of betrayal among Eritreans. They felt that their sacrifices and support had been disregarded, and the threats against Eritrea were not only an affront to their nation but also a blatant disregard for their contributions to stabilising his leadership.

As anger spread, many Eritreans took to social media and public forums to express their discontent, emphasising that their military backing had been crucial in countering the TPLF. This growing sentiment underscored a deeper sense of nationalism. Feelings of betrayal were intensified by fears that Abiy’s aggressive stance could lead to renewed tensions between the two countries, further complicating an already fragile relationship. The perception of Abiy as a modern-day Judas became prevalent, symbolising the deep disappointment felt by Eritreans who once supported him.

** and Strengthen Ties Amid Regional Security Challenges**

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atty and Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh recently met in Cairo to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and tackling regional security concerns. Their discussions focused on key issues affecting the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, reflecting the growing strategic partnership between the two nations.

One major highlight of the meeting was the security of the Red Sea, a vital maritime trade route. Both Egypt and Eritrea have emphasized the importance of regional states taking the lead in ensuring stability, countering external interference, and protecting their national interests.

This engagement comes at a time when geopolitical tensions in the Horn of Africa are on the rise. With ongoing conflicts, border disputes, and power struggles in the region, Cairo and Asmara are working to align their policies to support sovereignty, non-interference, and economic cooperation.

Additionally, the inaugural Joint Trilateral Ministerial Committee meeting between Egypt, Eritrea, and Somalia in Cairo signals a collective approach to regional security. As key players in the Horn of Africa, these nations are positioning themselves as a united front to address threats and opportunities in the region.

This latest diplomatic move highlights Egypt’s deepening role in African affairs and Eritrea’s efforts to strengthen its partnerships beyond its immediate neighbors.
