🎧 Meet Martin King – FUBAR DJ & House Music Lifer 🎶

Martin started spinning vinyl back in the golden era—1988, at the birth of acid house. He was there when it all kicked off around London and the M25 at the legendary Sunrise parties that changed club culture forever.

In ’91, he took the sound abroad—playing in Tenerife, then Gran Canaria, and by ’93, Mallorca became his base. That’s where he launched the infamous Pure Filth parties, which ran for three wild years.

He wasn’t just behind the decks—Martin ran a DJ agency and vinyl distribution outfit on the Costa Blanca, feeding the Spanish underground scene with fresh wax and serious beats.

In the ‘90s, he shared the stage with the greats:
Judge Jules, Brandon Block, Alfredo, Sonique, and underground pioneers like Ecil Eddir, Terry Francis, and the late, legendary Kenny Hawkes (RIP).

Now playing under his new brand The Groove Yard Spain, Martin is back on the decks doing what he does best—spinning proper house music on vinyl, for the heads who know.

And on July 5th, he brings that energy to FUBAR. Let’s go. 🔥🔥

Meet our entertainment manager and resident DJ the main man himself Sean Lester 🎵🔥

If you have ever been to a Fubar event you will know there is one thing for Sean knows how to throw a party let’s read his story ……..

🎧 From Village Halls to Villas… and Everything in Between 🎶

My first attempt at DJing? A village hall kids’ disco with a band called Insane Outsane. We raised £9.50 for charity—but it lit the spark. 🔥

From there, things got serious. My parents ran a big pub that they turned into a nightclub—Forton Lodge—where I DJ’d Thursday to Saturday from 9pm till 2am… then caught the bus to school at 8am Friday. 😅

They later bought Mainstreet in Newport, Shropshire, and I played there every weekend. Back then, it wasn’t about beat-matching—it was about keeping people moving, playing everything from reggae and party classics to chart pop.

When they moved to Spain, I stayed behind at just 16, living in the club. That’s when I fell in love with house music—tracks like Lil Louis – French Kiss, Todd Terry – Weekend, and my hero, Frankie Knuckles. 🎶

Then came the raves. The rest is a bit of a blur… but the house music obsession never left me.

Fast forward—I now live in Spain, and just before lockdown I took a DJ course with Mix People, got my digital setup, and started playing again. Not for the money—for the love. ❤️

With my good mate Jacob, we started FUBAR—because no one around here was playing the music we love. We wanted to bring it back: that proper house energy, for people who still feel it in their bones.

FUBAR was born (if you know, you know), and it’s been magic ever since.

On July 5th, we take it to the next level—Secret Villa White Party style.
I can’t wait to play for you all, alongside some incredible DJs and acts.
Let’s do this properly.
Let’s rave again.
