Mitten & Boot checking in from Barcelona!!
Life has been crazy the past couple of months. Let’s get into it…
December:
• surprised my (Syd’s) family by coming home to Michigan for Christmas! We spent a little over two weeks there before spending New Years in New York City! Another bucket list item checked off🥳
• Dario accepted a new job in Barcelona. A dream city for anyone who has been here. You get the mountains and the beach. Endless food options from all over the world. An indescribable nightlife. The international feel that we love so deeply. I could go on for days.
• Finally, while we were in the states we were able to sell our beloved van, Olive Explorer. It was an extremely bittersweet moment, saying goodbye to our home for the past year and a half. A home that has seen us at our best and most certainly our worst. A place that forced us to be vulnerable and our most authentic selves. While it was hard to say goodbye, we’re so excited about this new chapter of life.

January:
• Returned from USA and packed up our things in 4 days, ready to move! We’re staying in an Airbnb until we find the apartment right for us. That has been a difficult task lol.
• Dario started his job! He’s working as a controls engineer for General Electric Renewable Energy. This is so special because during our van trip, he made it a goal for himself to work in sustainability. He did it.
•
Thank you to all of you who supported us and who have watched our journey. We are so grateful to have been able to share that part of our lives with you.

THE END OF AN ERA 🤍
The adventure we just had is one we will never forget. The places and people we met will stay in our hearts forever. We’ve really loved sharing our journey with you all and thank you for the endless support and kindness you’ve sent us. We aren’t saying goodbye to VanLife just yet, but we are taking a little pause. Any guesses where our next destination will be??😏🤭

L’avventura che abbiamo appena finito non la dimenticheremo mai. I posti e le persone che abbiamo conosciuto rimarranno nei nostri cuori per sempre. Ci siamo divertiti a condividere questo viaggio con tutti goi e grazie per il supporto e la gentilezza che vi avete dato.
Non stiamo ancora dando l’addio alla VanLife ma stiamo prendendo una piccola pausa. Indovina la nostra prossima destinazione!? 😏🤭

Yesterday we hit a major milestone in our journey and crossed the Atlantic Ocean Road! It was a beautiful trip across these islands. Next milestone to reach: The Arctic Circle ⭕️🥶🦌🌲🌬❄️

It’s a holiday in Italia today which means we get to celebrate, even in Norway 😉 today we hiked 17km round trip to visit the largest glacier in continental EU. The hike itself wasn’t too trying, but with Sydney’s recent knee problems and us being in a time crunch, it was quite the challenge 🤣 17km in just under 4 hours. Including time spent on drone + camera footage. IMPRESSIVE I would say😆 what a joy it’s been adventuring around this incredible country.

Oggi è una festività in Italia quindi possiamo festeggiare, anche in Norvegia 😉 oggi abbiamo percorso 17 km andata e ritorno per visitare il ghiacciaio più grande dell'Europa continentale. L'escursione in sé non era troppo difficile, ma con i recenti problemi al ginocchio di Sydney e noi con il tempo contato per il lavoro di Sydney, è stata proprio la sfida 🤣 17 km in poco meno di 4 ore. Compreso il tempo trascorso con drone + riprese della fotocamera. IMPRESSIONANTE direi😆 che gioia è stata avventurarsi in questo incredibile paese.

3 days in paradise 🌳🌿🌲 we had to leave this special spot today to do some VanLife chores - load + unload, empty the 🚽, buy some 🍞🥚🥦 - the usual. Onto the next hidden gem!

3 giorni in paradiso 🌳🌿🌲 siamo dovuti partire da qui per fare le faccende per il van - carico + scarico le acque, fare la spesa - il solito. Alla ricerca della prossima gemma nascosta!

The clearest lake we’ve ever seen. It was seriously like a giant mirror! The more north we go, the more we’re only surrounded by nature...what a surreal journey 🤍🇳🇴🚐

Hiked 10k for these views…WORTH IT. Not to mention - it was a fun hike! Some parts felt jungle like, others marsh lands, and snow up top. This place feels like different planet, the landscape is so unique. 🌲❄️🌊🏔
