Request for Establishment of Consular Services in Catalunya, Spain
Warm greetings from the Union of Ghanaian Associations in Catalonia (UGAC), and a sincere welcome
on the occasion of your visit.
We respectfully wish to highlight a matter of great importance to our community. Catalonia particularly
Barcelona and its surrounding areas is home to the majority of Ghanaians in Spain. Despite this,
access to essential consular services remains major challenge.
For several years, our community has consistently requested the establishment of consular services in
this region, yet the situation remains unchanged. Currently, many Ghanaians must travel to Madrid to
access basic services, placing significant financial and logistical burdens on individuals and families,
We therefore humbly request. your support in facilitating the establishment og a consular service of
butreach office in Catalonia. This would greatly improve access, efficiency, and strengthen the
connection between the Government of Ghana and its citizens here
