It is midnight in downtown Bogotá and people are divided between those who choose to go home and those who stay behind, wandering about the cold dawn of the Colombian capital.

Drugs and loneliness walk along with them. Some of them stronger than others, but all of them stronger than anyone who never lived the horrors of walking at night on the streets of the Colombian Bronx. Here's one of the winners. One that was able to overcome the s**t of hell. A 15 year old kid.

The skeptical eyes of those who pass through the corner of 7th Street and 27th in downtown Bogotá, observe carefully how life emerges from the pavement. How Darío Acosta, commonly known as Lucas, comes out of the drain where ...he's been living for the past eight years. He yawns, he kindly greets his neighbour, the statue on the fountain beside him, and makes his way in search of food, not without making sure his home door, a simple iron lid that reads Telecommunications of Bogotá, is properly shut.

It tells the story of the children of Barrio Triste (Sad Neighborhood), the common name given to the Corazón de Jesús neighborhood in Medellín, Colombia. A place mostly dedicated to mechanics and car spare parts. Adult children walk barefooted among this landscape of tires, spare parts, tins and filth. They live in a world of pavement that witnessed them promptly growing up among drugs, violence and prostitution. Children of nobody who have no notion of authority and who see themselves mistreated by society.

There walk the children that will become men while Colombia ignores them.
